I think it would be pretty cool. No repetitive stress injuries. Ever. No glasses. Ever. Lordy, it would be awesome.

Personally, I think I'd prefer some mods rather than a completely new body, though. I still like my body, even if I would modify it given the chance.

interestingly enough, neither fundies in my family want the robotic body. I wonder if religion has something to do with it.

Id like to post this topic in christian forums.

They'd probably make up some shit about how God made them their body especially for them, and He doesn't want them replacing their bodies with man-made ones.

Would these bodies handle sensory input(touch/taste/smell?) as well as we do? Would it be considered "freakish" to have a relationship with a cyborg? Wouldn't you eventually become as cold and detached as Kusanagi? Wouldn't you die after many years anyway, since your brain would atrophy? Wouldn't these bodies give some people a leg up in life? Would they even be CONSIDERED alive?
The revolution is successful, but survival depends on drastic measures. Your continued existence represents a threat to the well-being of society. Your lives means slow death to the more valued members of the colony. Therefore I have no alternative but to sentence you to death. Your execution is so ordered.

Well it depends, I'd probably do it but wouldn't be in such a hurry. I'd rather wait till the body starts aging a bit, like when I'm 50 or so. Then before I start going senile, I'd undergo my special neuron-by-neuron artificial brain replacement. So for me it's more a "extending lifespan" than just wanting upgrades. The upgrades are a nice bonus - and I'd definitely go for a T-800 type endoskeleton, or something superior :) but then again I'd also want to be able to switch complete bodies, like have both male and female bodies in storage, maybe some animal-like bodies, who knows.

Sure. As long as the brain in the cyborg is my original brain, not a replacement. Gradually augmenting my brain after the initial procedure is no problem, but I want assurance that it's actually still me.

About this issue of sex:

in the original comic by Shirow, there was one chapter--sort of a filler--where Motoko oversees the creation of a cybernetic body for a female client. One of the workers rattles off a bunch of things a cybernetic body can do...

one of them being able to experience 10+ times the amount of pleasure one would normally get in organic sex.

There you have it guys.
What's her bust size!?

It's over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAND!!!!!!!!!
