The 3D Universe as we know it is really a Holograph?

Post by EmperorSolo51 »

According to a New theory in the lattest issue of Scientific American, The Universe as we know is actually a Holograph of a 2D universe.

I don't buy it. What exactly does this explain that a simple three-dimensional universe does not?

I think what they mean relates to how space-time can be seen as a flat surface, with depressions on that surface relating to gravity.

Our 3d proportions could be "bumps" or "projections" from that base flat 2d plane of space-time.

Just a thought.

I prefer the 'Matrix' hypothesis.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

That we're all simulations? It would explain quantum physics.

Blasphemy. Trinity is very hot in Matrix, but in Reloaded she didn't seem to carry the same effect.

About 7 months ago, a friend of mine tried pushing a book on the same idea into my hands. I brushed it off, but even if it's a bit...kooky, after reading this article, I'll probably give it another look.
