Guess so. Precog and lightsabres and telekinesis is all well and good, but eventually you'll meet an end, not that Jedi Knights won't go out with a bang.

I could see them helping the Resistance of 2029 at least, but not winning the war or anything.

Gah, I hate Jedi Wankers with a passion. If Jedi are so goddamned god-like
then why were so many of them fucking killed in that Arena on Genosis,
when the fucking equivalent of a COMPANY of Jedi was there? (200+)

I expressed the same dismay over the jedi-wanking. Obi-wan, Mace, Yoda, and Annakin seem to be clearly more powerful than many others, and as such should not be used to examine the common jedis power.

Jedi are indeedy fucking powerful as hell. However, if they're THAT powerful,
and are so hard to kill and capable of accelerating at 50+ gees, then why was
Obi wan hiding in a shithole like Tatooine in some shack, while Yoda was
getting fungus rot on his dick on Dagobah?

Well yeah, that too. I haven't read all the EU, gave up with it after the crap stuff, but from what I hear the Jedi should be wasting anyone in the films, which isn't always the case.

The way some of these Jedi wankers go on about it, a Jedi is
nigh unstoppable...while they conviently ignore the facts that
Jango managed to hold Obi wan at bay for most of the fight on
Kamino, and that for most of Episode 1, Obi Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn
were on the run run run from the Trade Federation, rather than
easily defeating the Droidekai by telekinetically crushing their
control units and cutting through the blast door and holding the
Neimodians at sabre point like they should have if some of
these abilities some people ascribe them to having actually work.

Yet for the most part Shep...the T-800 nor the T-1000 or the T-X have the capabilities of shielding the Droidekas had.

And Obi-Wan was odered to capture Jango...thus he couldn't just simply extend the Force and crush him like a grap...that even Jango stated in the book he was almost outmatched. Literally he used his bag of tricks...Boba fired at good moment and he ran...it wasn't exactly Jango going "Smackdown, biatch!"

But unless the T-800's endurance in T1 was taking much more force then the Blaster...sorta fucks it, and even then that's not even at the heart of the problem...but nice of you to try.

skillz to crush the Droidekai's CPUs like you claim they will crush the
T-800's CPU from afar. Duh.

Seriously, TPM was so badly written that I'm ashamed that it's canon. It's
so much like a fanfic in it's amatuerishness.

Let's see...TPM...they had to concern themselves over blasters.

AoTC...blasters again...but look 100-1 odds.

Hmmm seemingly this gun thing is quite ever present when facing droids of this sort and so far they shown that because of this silly deflection bit take a bit of their concentration not to mention they have other pressing matters and being outnumbered 100-1 odds has nothing to do with them not sweeping them down.

This is why I hate the new trilogy. It's really shitty. For years,
all of us on ASVS were eagerly awaiting seeing the Jedi at their
peak and badassedness, and what do we get, a bunch of depowered
Jedi.

They did, numerous times. Both on the Trade Federation ship at the start of TPM, and in the Arena. Against a single Terminator, it's no effort at all.

Aside from the already stated, I wonder if Jedi could stop incoming bullets Neo-style. They wouldn't be able to do it on the fly as Neo could, but as they have precog they could easily prepare a "force wall" (canon, AOTC novelization) to stop the incoming projectiles. Obviously, the same cannot be said for lasers, they not being a solid and all.

The point I'm trying to make here, is that the Jedi are not as uber powerful
as their various fanboi make them out to be.

If the Jedi had even 1/10th the abilities that the fanboi have attributed
to them, even at their weakened level, they would have been able to
chop the droid army in Genosis up in less than 5 minutes.

Y'know, it's kinda hard to hit a man sized target when it's accelerating
at 50 gees and whacking away with a lightsabre...yet we don't see
the Jedi actually using these combat skills where it would be useful,
other than one brief scene in TPM where OB1 and QGJ run away from
the Droidekai...

I think I might have a theory for this.

Jedi get stupid in large numbers. Something to do with the Force. It's
the only logical explanation for why 1-2 jedi use the Force so much,
but in large groups it's macho enage the enemy with HTH weapons
despite having the Force.

You would think that the Jedi, being products of intensive training at the Jedi Temple, would divide their efforts, 1/2 block the blasterfire, while the other half force whacks the Droid army around like ping-pong balls...unless of course, the same stuff that's taught at Starfleet Academy is also taught at the Jedi Temple.

The more I see of lucas' new trilogy, the more I'm deeply disappointed in it
