I was reading about pershing's occupation of the Philippines and came across some stuff about how he put down the mammedans which were a group of islamic extreamist tribes. I read he took down the the largest tribe and linned up all the prisoners but one and shot them withbullets dipped in pigs blood which it says is a grave sin and causes them not to get their 70 virgins.

I was wondering if touching pigs blood is a grave sin in Islam, and if anyone knows if this actually happened or if it just some myth.

Well, not sure about touching. But pigs are a definate no-no in terms of food as it is considered an unclean animal. So I guess the reasoning was, you're putting some pig into the poor schmoe a la bullet so you die unclean as well.

And that report I don't believe was ever validated as to have been done executed by Pershing. I think it was just a story attributed to him.

There was a case in which about 50-75 IIRC, where executed and then buried under pigskins to prevent them from ascending to heaven. Two where allowed to live and sent back to tell their tribe what had happened. US forces never had any more trouble from them. What you read sounds like an embellishment

It would bring us to an interesting point by jihading themselves they are planning on going to heaven but if we prevent them by way of pig thet go to hell for their efforts.
