Holy shit. This guy must be laughing all the way to the bank, especially with the all the money he made off of such SHITTY movies like Pearl Habor. The only movie he didn't make money off must've been Kangaroo Jack, of which I understand had more letters in its title then actual viewers.

All you have to do is go out there and make really awful movies that appeal to the masses, AND have ridiculously high budgets. I've discovered Bruckheimer's secret; I'm gonna be rich! *runs off to make crappy movies*

Fuck that. If I ever actually get into the film industry, I'm going to steer clear of Hollywood. Some of the best movies ever were done independently; just look at Lord of the Rings. Nobody needs this Hollywood byzantine crap.

"The Wire" is the best show in the history of television. Watch it today.

even the snob filmakers know, you have to make some mildless pop tripe blockbusters. After a few of those you can bankroll the moving arthouse films on the human condition that no one but the goatee an toufu set will watch.

The Beverly Hills Cop movies were good because of Eddy Murphy (back when he was still good), not because of Bruckheimer. And Black Hawk Down was good because of Ridley Scott, not because of Bruckheimer. Bruckheimer knows how to procure the resources that a director needs in order to get his project off the ground. However, we have seen quite clearly that he has no idea how to distinguish a good project from a bad one. If he produces a good movie, it's just dumb luck that he happened to choose a project that wasn't stupid.

Couple him with Bay, however, and you get guaranteed stupidity.
what about CSI?

It sucks ass. It takes the topics of those dramatized TLC forensics shows, adds horribly written dialogue and has it read by actors who either suck major ass or aren't trying very hard. On the side, there's some "drama" between the characters. And it's supposed to be cool because it's in Vegas/Miami.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Tomb Raider 2 amused me for two reasons:

1. I have a long-running obsession with Lara Croft.

2. The movie features an ultra-rare, ultra-obscure Heckler & Koch P11 underwater pistol.

I know you're upset about Bruckheimer getting so much money, so I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that.

I agree. It has some of the most boring and lifeless character I've ever seen.

Tell me about it. I work with WWII veterans, and the week after that came out I got an earful from men who had been at Pearl Harbor about how historically inaccurate the movie was. Took about three months before they stopped griping.

Hey, not all of Bruckheimers stuff was bad. I throughly enjoyed Kangaroo Jack and Enemy of the State.

The only big beef I have with his movies is the shitty camera work. All this fancy schmancy shit he has to do is nothing more than a waste of screen time.

Bruckheimer isn't responsible for the camera work; he's a producer.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

I'm not upset at all; I say more power to him. But CSI is a horribly retarded show no matter which way you slice it.
