[Book] Live from Golgotha, by Gore Vidal
Anyone else read this? I'm reading it now and it's pretty funny, IMHO.

It's the hill where Jebus was crucified. The setting for the book is that in our time, a hacker is destroying the gospels, and some corporation contacts St. Timothy and has him record a new one. They offer as compensation to let him anchor the live broadcast of the crucifixtion. It's a really strange book at times. Imagine if Einy was St. Paul, for example.Dalton wrote:Where do I know the word Golgotha from?

That's goddamn fucked up.
Anyway, I remember Golgotha as being the name of the mountain where a vast store of Japanese war gold was stored in Cryptonomicon.

Isn't that the guy who wrote Creation, about some Oriental guy meeting all sorts of early religious leaders?

Why isn’t that ever an issue of politics? Because you don’t live in a democracy. You live in a plutocracy. Money rules.
