GIGLI BOMBS!

Post by Darth Fanboy »

The movie featuring UberBitch and overrated singer Jennifer Lopez and douchebag hack actor ben affleck finished with a whopping $3.8 million dollars in it sopening weekend. Tying that of Finding Nemo (Which has been out all summer long it seems.) Both stars are following up performances in shitty movies (Maid in Manhattan, Daredevil) and hopefully their careers soon end as lifelessly as their marriage will.

CHOKE ON IT!

It's being called the worst movie of the century by some critics, but that is obviously Pearl Harbor. Still interesting that both movies star Ben Affleck, that idiot needs to start reading scripts before signing.

I'm not particularly suprised that it bombed.

He was in Armageddon, too. We must never forget!

I heard a few months ago that this....film..wasn't even going to be released, the guy talking about it said Affleck's horrifiyingly bad accent was part of the decision.

Ben Affleck is capable of putting up a good performance; see the wonderful Changing Lanes. But he does so much damn shit.

You'd think they'd have figured out that problem, sometime around when he first spoke using it.

I could easily blackmail Affleck if I could just steal some copies of 'Voyage of the Mimi' from the middle school, in which a pudgy, 10-year old Ben Affleck appears.

Hollywood does not purposefully make shit. Shit waste money. Many times scripts look good on paper, but it's the execution that goes wrong. But once a movie is started, a certain amount of capital has been expended. It really doesn't matter if a movie is going down hill during production, the show must go on. This is simply the nature of the game.

If you don't like the movie, don't go see it. And if you haven't seen it, don't comment on it's quality.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

What do you want from him? Jennifer Lopez? You could either wait until she's divorced the first few million men and get your chance, or use the blackmail. Unless of course, you're not into overrated actress/singers. Then, you could just do it for a lot of money.

Holy shit... I hadn't realized that Affleck was the kid in that series. Damn that brings back memories from 5th grade when I was 9 years old. That is 1989, 14 freaking years ago. And the series turns up to be even older then that. Wow. For an educational series it was ok, but it was still crap.

And damn, looking at pictures you can freaking tell thats Affleck. Its amazing how little people change even after all that much time.

I'm not suprised. I'm suprised that Belgium didn't try to put it's producers on trial for it.

Yeah, but Dogma kicked major ass.

About Gigli, I'm actually kind of surprised, in general. If you had told me the script and cast about six months ago, I would have thought it'd make a shitload of money, even if it turned out exactly the way it did. What I think did it in is that at some point in the past it became fashionable to make fun of "Ben & Jen", and that can be ruinous for actors, for whom public opinion is so important.
Really, there's no reason America shouldn't like this movie. It's just as fucking retarded as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days or Legally Blond or Two Weeks Notice, and people like those. It's just that people see the likes of Jay Leno making fun of Ben and Jen, and they hop on the bandwagon and decide that they think the two are hacks now.
It is assured to be a stupid movie, it's just that there's no reason they shouldn't have expected to make money off of it. They're getting burned now, and that's just too bad for them, now isn't it?

Bleh, I don't see Ben Affleck movies unless Kevin Smith has written and directed them. He's building his own empire; every time another one of his crappy movies has great success, he goes out and secretly buys another nuclear submarine, another aircraft carrier, another wing of black helicopters. By the time his career goes down the drain it won't even matter; he'll conquer us all I tell you! The Empire of Affleck is upon us! Board up your homes and reach for your shotguns before it's too late!
