Bleeding problem
I have got a bug bite or something on my leg, and whenever I scratch it/accidentally brush it against something, the thing opens up and bleeds like no tiny cut I've ever seen. It's been going nonstop for almost four hours now, and pressure is making no difference. It doesn't hurt, not even a little bit, but it is rather a pain in the ass to have a steady trickle of blood going down my leg. I usually don't do this, but I would appreciate any advice on how to deal with this problem.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
Krazy glue it. I'm serious. Small cuts which keep getting opened up can be sealed shut with Krazy glue. It's not the best thing for you but it works. The few times I've accidentally nicked my fingers preparing food the cut gushed blood and won't heal since I'm moving my hands & fingers around trying to get dinner done. After I cleaned and glued it shut the bleeding is fixed and the cut won't reopen. Just don't glue yourself to yourself like that guy in American Pie 2.

Go to your walmart or local 24hour store and find this stuff i think its called nuskin. it's like crazy glue but its not some toxic shit that you put model airplanes together with.

Bleeds right through (and I'd like to avoid putting anything sticky on my legs, since stickiness and hair don't mix).HemlockGrey wrote:...Band-Aid?

Cauterize it.

Take a razor and shave around the bleeding bug bite, then seal it shut with the Krazy glue or that non-toxic nuskin stuff. You'll look like you have the mange but at least your leghair won't be stuck together. Nuskin as I remember it is a mixture of antibiotics, coagulants, and some glue to bond the cut and protect it from the environment. It doesn't seal the wound as well as Krazy glue, but it's better for you in the long run if you cut yourself a lot.Durran Korr wrote:Bleeds right through (and I'd like to avoid putting anything sticky on my legs, since stickiness and hair don't mix).

I also say that Krazy glue is the way to do it. I get cut at work on a semi-regular basis from frayed steel cables and metal burrs, as well as the occasional packing staple. Since I'm using my hands to work all day cuts will keep reopening and bleeding, so I glue them shut. Works every time, but it stings a bit till the glue dries. Perfectly safe as long as you don't glue yourself to yourself.
I also play with knives a lot, flipping them open and closed and twirling them around in my hands. Sometimes I screw up and get cut, and let's just say razor sharp knives will make one bleed like you wouldn't believe. But no worries, clean the blood off a bit and stick it shut with Krazy glue, problem solved, and I can go back to playing with my knives.

Well it wasn't exactly gushing, dripping would be more like it. Besides, the food still needed to be cooked so it's not as if anyone's gonna notice a few drops of blood, and for the love of god i was hungry!RogueIce wrote:Wait a minute...you were gushing blood when you were still trying to make food?

BTW, that "you touch yourself" thing comes from my BF, which he picked up at his work, and I'm told that it all started with Family Guy.

Cyanoacrylate (better known as super glue or krazy glue) is an excellent wound sealant. I use it quite often when I cut my hand but don't have three days to mope about and be useless (you know, if I'm working on my car or something).
However if its big enough where I couldn't just let it bleed, then I'll go to the doctor and have them stitch it up. Super glue should be used as a convenience in wound sealant, not as a necessity.
