- Undercover video reveals Marxist sympathies and ideology of ANSWER leadership.

- Fantastical lies and propaganda outlined in maddened belief of U.S. "colonialism" for little point or purpose.

- Disgust with the U.S. Constitution fervently expressed; declaration that it should only be defended even as one exposes its faults. Various demands made upon it implausible with history and unnecessary under law--also demands made for clauses which would essentially create a marxist state.

- March plotted against STRATCOM facility in Omaha. (Was for August 1)

- loathing of the "European-American Male" expressed.

- Solidarity with Castroist regime expressed.

- Stated goal of "discrediting the election"; presumably regardless of its actual legality.

- United States denounced as "Fascist".

- Bizzare propaganda video shown intespersing stock footage of atomic explosions and missile tests with photographs of Bush, Osama bin Laden, Stalin, and Kim Jong-Il, apparently arguing for their moral equivlancy.

I should add that the comments made by these ultra right wing whackjobs are pretty much the polar opposite of the ultra left wing whackjobs they're insulting. They're no better- ranting about how a speaker is obviously a lesbian (homophobia, how ORIGINAL), Hilary Clinton's a socilaist, blah blah bullshit blah ...

Sound quality seemed decent enough for me, but I had the commentary text open--a bit like having a page of the lyrics open to a rock song whilst you're listening to it. I suppose this would be the official recommendation to go with High Bandwith if possible.

Let me remind you that you can't justify a war simply because the war in question is opposed by communists.

That's like opposing the Allies' opposition to Nazi Germany because the Soviet Union fought on the Allied side during WW2.

I guess using her logic, we could conclude that since PNAC is one of the driving forces behind the war, the war is invalidated on those grounds alone.

ANSWER is trouble, there's no question of that.

I belong to many anti-war groups and every single one of them has wrestled with the question of whether or not it's a good idea to participate in ANSWER actions, given their sypathies, goals, and funding.

But ultimately, ANSWER is a group with a lot of time and resources, and they're sort of the only game in town.

We've decided that so long as ANSWER's events focus on war issues and not the overthrow of the US government, it's alright to participate.

We hope to be identified with ads for the specific event rather than the broader and less-expressed ideology of International ANSWER.

So far I think it's working.

So long as it's only these people who scream Commie whenever an ANSWER protest happens I don't think we need to be concerned. Most Americans are clever enough to read banners and see that our message is simply anti-war.

If/when ANSWER gets more vocal with it's communist sympathies, I and many many others will be jumping ship.

You can discredit ANSWER all you want, but don't apply all their ideologies to everyone who comes out for a protest.

Simon, this was posted to demonstrate that the anti-war effort is receiving funding and organizational direction--those critical elements which can give a small segment of the populace a disproportionate voice--from inherently anti-American sources. It does not invalidate any anti-war arguments in and of itself; what it does is call into question the nature and motivations of the current anti-war movement. The two are seperate things.
