I followed the barking spidermonkeys. Somehow stumbled across Dalton's fanfic page while searching for Star Wars porn to post on another forum, clicked around on author links which led to the main page which then led here.

Many moons ago, '97 or '98, I found Dr Saxton's website. After about four straight days of reading, I eventually got to the links section. After a few days of surfing, I found Mikes site and regularly checked it out for a couple years. I think he had one chapter of his fanfic up when I found it, so I ever so slowly read it as he put it up.

When the forum went up, I lurked for about two months before joining.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Someone recommended Starcrossed over on TGU and I sauntered over and ghosted for several months before actually signing up... :)

Surfed the web, found it, loved it, surfed it every day for about 3 months, left for vacation, came back and found a board.

Summer break. I was bored. Googled for Star Wars to see if there were any good fan sites I didn't know of. Saw the adress www.stardestroyer.net and thought that it might be interesting. Read the main site thinking "This guy has too much time...". Then the forum came and I started lurking there. Joined a few months later after finding the forums mostly harmless.

Surfing around Saxton's site back in the days before it went to TF.N, and came across Poe's site in the links. Then I read the Hate Mail, found Mike's contributions, figured he sounded funny as Hell, and went to his site.

Ah, the days of waiting for a new Conquest page to go up... Geez, musta been 99 that was. Then he put up the Creationism page in response to the Kansas BoE thing, and I sent in a nifty thing on the First Amendment.

Those were the days...

Now I'm waiting for him to get on with his newest fanfic. If he hasn't already (I check here more often than I do the main site)... :D

I was surfing the net for SW sites a few years ago, stumbled upon Mr. Wong's site. From there I expanded my horizons to Poe's and the Archive among others, all the while wondering who the hell these people were. I eventually logged onto ASVS to check it out, and stayed. Registered here almost as soon as the board opened. It's been an education.

Was over on ASVS since my sophomore year in High School. Was introduced from there to SD.net. When the board was announced, I didn't come over right away, but eventually thought, "What the heck. Why not?"

I found it just the same as Tribun. I first tried stardestroyer.com then stardestroyer.org then stardestroyer.net. when this place didn't have a forum. I soon then forgot about it and only got back to it when I was suring for a stardestroyer page and found it again. :D~Jason
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I think I first found a link here at B5Tech. I think that was a year or so before he made the board.

I found SD.net from a link of Dr. Saxton's page where I had read, and ocassionally suggested a theory or two. I had finished reading everything I could and went looking for more.

Found out from Spacebattles that Mike had put up a forum and joined immediately. I posted ocassionally, did't get active till Arminus showed up. I shortly afterwards became a Horsemen and eventually worked my way to be the supermod you see before you.

Got into a debate with a fundie in real life and lost due to inexperience and lack of knowldge on the subject. After that, I strted searching the net for info on the subject and found Mike's site.

6 months later: While browsing Spacebattles I saw a thread saying that Mike created a BBS. I've decided to check it out and joined.

Have a very nice day.

I found the site after I accidently stumbled onto the ST vs SW webring this site is a part of. I read through a few, they were mostly stupid as hell, I was about to give up when I found this one. I really liked it, came back a few times, but when I clicked the forums, and ESPECIALLY when I saw StarCrossed, that's what made me stay for good. (musta spent 3 days solid just reading the fic, only getting up to eat/drink/pee)

I was cruising this site before the forum was opened; I typed 'StarDestroyer' in Google and this site was listed...

It all started one day when I went on LucasArts to read more about Jedi Outcast. I found a bunch of fansites. One of them was jediknightii.net. Great site. On it, I found a link to the Death Star Database, which doesn't exist anymore. It led me to Saxton's site, which brought me to Poe's site, which brought me here.

Found Mike's site a few years ago, read most of the articles on it, then started visiting every few days to check for updates on his site and on his fanfic when that started up. Then signed up at about 3:00 AM the night he put the new board up.
