Help!: Interdistrict schooling

Post by Jaded Masses »

I am soon going to move to another city and I will need to go to school. (I'll be starting high school) however the school I would normally be going to has rather low scores. Nearby ( but farther then the first school) is a school with high scores (API, SAT 9s)and other things that make it attractive to me and I wish to go there instead. The catch is that it is in another school district. I have been researching the matter and I have found that little information pertaining to my county (Los Angeles). Do any of you know any thing about getting an Inter-district agreement for Los Angeles county (CA)?

Do what my friend does: lie. He lives in Warren/Madison Hgts. border, barely on the Warren side, where they have shitty schools. My friend and his parents wanted him to go to the Madison Hgts. schools, so they found somebody they knew (Jesse) in Madison Hgts. and my friends parents asked Jesse to pretend that his house was my friends house. If either school district knows your current address, tell them you moved the other persons (Jesse's) house. As long as that person isn't enrolled in either school district, there shouldn't be a problem. It works, the school have never found out or even inquired on the matter. The only catch is that the Jesse receives all their school related mail.

I don't know any one in ether district, but thanks for trying.

I might as well tell y'all where I will/want be going. I will be moving to Pasadena CA and the school I wish to go to is in South Pasadena (a different district and city), simply moving to South Pasadena is not an option (at least right now).

Well, you can always use someone else's address.. a friend who lives in that district.. not that they'll ever check. Or you can try to obtain a permit to attend another school district.

Such as I lived in Los Angeles yet I attended Santa Monica High School.

Usually if one of your parents works in the district.

I got my permit through the government, after coming back from overseas I could attend any school district I wanted.

What was the process in getting a permit? Did you have to ask for it or did it just come in the mail?

Just asked for it, the people in the office took care of everything. Go to the school you want to attend and talk to them. Be very polite and respectful. High school administrators are often BITCHES.
