Look. I havent taken a look at his specific platform, but in general, if a person is registered republican, we dont see eye to eye. That is the way of things.

Hell I would vote for a republican, if he/she didnt operate on the republican political platform :P

(Note: If I didnt find him repulsive, I may vote for Ros Perot(sp) for no other reason than to have a creepy little gnome creature for a resident)

I have not decided yet, but I might vote for him. Bustamonte is a no go for me and Im not interested in keeping Davis. So since I get the chance to pick someone else, it might be McBain, er... Arnie.

He is basically a fiscal conservative, which I want as a governer. This state has big, big, problems. Its too expensive for most people to live here, its gonna take a strong governor to make the state friendly to business again.

I'll vote or Arnold, but is a tough choice over the Gallagher/GaryColeman/Larry Flynt Triple threat.

I plan on buying at least one t shirt for each of those four campaigns.

I think I would vote for him. I could be wrong of course, but from what I've heard of his views and what he stands for I like. We will just have to wait and see. He sure as hell can't be any worse than Gary Coleman! And forgive me for going off topic, but if there is one thing that gets on my nerves is that voters make it a habit of voting for the party instead of the man. Nevermind that he/she may or may not share your particular views. Nevermind that he/she may be absolutly incompetant. Apparantly, if he's the right party he's the right man.

ME: Hey, this guy has some pretty interesting views. I think I 'll vote for him. How about you?

VOTER: Hell no!

ME: Well, why not?

VOTER: Because he's a Repulican.

ME: So you're just going to vote for the other guy because he's Democrate?

VOTER: That's right.

ME: So you're not even going to think about what the this guy has to say? You're not going to listen to the guy's views and what he has planed? What about this guy you're voting for? Do you even know if he share's you're views?

VOTER: ......Leave me alone! *runs off*

Granted, it's an extreme example but you get the idea. There are a suprisingly large number of people who share this mindset. It's as if nobody listens to the person anymore. Just because you share the same party doesn't nessesarily mean that you share the same views. (Sorry if I hijacked the thread. My dad and I had an argument about this. Carry on. :) )

Saw an interview with him on one of those news shows and my first impression was that he had ZERO personality. Al Gore for all his robot like ability could not match this guy for sheer lack of charisma or any kind of driving force. It was like watching a piece of drift wood carved with a human face when watching that interview. He was pretty confident that he would win and one of his arguments was - "where are the democrats going to go? They have to come to me." Then I heard last night that his own Lt. Governor would be running against him. :D

Not necessarily. The label "social liberal" often suggests support for affirmative action, which is just about as un-libertarian as policy gets.

I'd vote for him. He's the kind of moderate Republican I'd love to see in office as opposed to the more hardline republicans. Socially he's a liberal-moderate on just about every issue but takes a conservative stance of economic issues.

I'm sure there are many people in the media who wish for the painful death of Bill O'Reilly. I just wish he'd shut the fuck up when his interviewees are talking.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
