A friend of mine told me about the site (before the BBS board came up). Looked at some the stuff there, thought it was cool. Showed up to check for updates, one day found out that the Forum was there, registered... And from that point on my outside life has ended. :D

Started at spacebattles though I never really do any debating. Came over here and signed up and I still don't do any debating. Sadly enough, I spend more time at an RL friend's site's board than at both combined.

Several years ago was when I first ran afoul of this site.

Mike was still writing his first fanfic, and I was pissed that it ended so suddenly in the middle. I got a big kick out of it back then because I was just about as huge a SW freak as you guys are right now.

Got here from B5Tech, so it happened, about a year ago, then the site got a forum. Was always too scared to sign up until and kept making excuses until a few months ago.

In 1997, having discovered the joys of Internet, I was searching for information about starships of Star Trek. A search word "Oberth-class" brought me to a now defunct Utopia Planitia Fleetyards website, an impressive database of Trek vessels.

Sometime later, while browsing their links page, I found my way to Frank Gerratana's Sci-Fi Pages. From there I found out about Saxton's Star Wars Technical Commentaries. I was overjoyed.

Fast forward to the year 2000, I was going through SWTC's links and found out about Babylon 5 Technical Manual. Its words of praise related to SD.net made me visit Wong's website...

Is this accurate enough? My friends often tell me that I tend to remember useless facts... 8)

I pointed Mike to the phpBB site, where the software for this forum can be downloaded.

I wanted to find out more about AotC in April of 2002, which took me to SWTC, which in turn took me to SD.net, before there was a BBS.

I found the main site through Saxton's links page. That was a few years back, and I used to check for updates every time I went online. I looked at ASVS and SB through links on the main SDN page, but they didn't interest me very much. Then, when the message board proceeding this one came on, I participated and enjoyed it, so I got on this one the day it went online. Been here ever since.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

What happened to him anyway?
As far as I know he's still off and on, but rarely. He said before the summer that he wouldn't be around much during the summer. But school's starting again soon.

found it off Google whilst looking for some information for a Star Wars roleplaying campaign I was preparing. I actually ended up on Spacebattles first but rarely posted (there weren't any forums here at the time.)

You probably don't remember me. I wasn't at ASVS for very long. AOL'd never add it to their list of newsgroups, so I had to wait and access it from deja.com (hence my handle over there, "seanbigofmydeja").

I first heard about SD.net after Mike told me he was starting a website. I got a peak at it before it went public IIRC. It's been fucking rad from day 1.

My first exposure to the whole vs debate actually came on a cheap yahoo! message board. One of our regulars posted a link to SD.net.

Blame HBMC. :) Its all his fault that I found out about SD.net (long before the forums were a thought in Mike's head). I visited occasionally, and mostly lurked until that big fight over one of Miles O'Brien's movies ensued on here.
