When pressed however I can whip out perfectly cooked and prepared pankakes though that is the extent of my acutal "cooking" cooking skills
I've never actually tried anything more complicated than DiGiorno's (sp) Pizza and Mac'n'Cheese.

Well, then there's Oatmeal, which I'm decent at...

I can cook, if by "cook" you mean "throw piece of meat onto barbecue". Any more advanced techniques are beyond me.

I can cook. I sorta had to learn because in HS, mom was constantly working during the winter. Usually it's chicken or occasionally a nice steak under the broiler, but I'll also cook potatoes and rice and stuff like that. Right now I'm trying to get this homemade mac & cheese recipe right.

If you're going to start cooking, then go out and buy a cast iron skillet. Decent one, 8-10" across, usually $20-$30. You can use that thing for more damn recipes than anything else. Buy that before you buy anything else.

Yes. Before i was a secretary i was in sectary school. Night classes on office skills if you will. While i was paying for that i was a catering assistant in several high class hotels and restraunts. Also becasue my mother works as a cleaner ina local school i make diner most nights so she doesn't have to. My lasagna actually caused some people to cry in happyness and my chili can actually be used in place of nuclear weapons.

I cook more than just pasta. And my stupid roommate won't buy flour and eggs and raw meat so I can make things. Or hamburger so I can make spaghetti. Or stuff to make enchiladas. And stuff like that.

Ramen Noodles == nasty. Oriental Ramen Noodles == canibalizism.

Anything cooked under the brioler tastes like shit for some reason.

Well, you also need to season the skillet... that's the most important part, and you can't do it if you have an electric range.

I personally can cook huge servings of pasta, many Asian and Indian dishes, and I also have a knack for mixing drinks.

Not bad for 17 eh?

I know more about mixed drinks than most people I know that are over 21. And that's not counting what I know about liquor itself.

Just chop the meat up fine, stir-fry it, take it out of the wok and set it aside for a moment, stir-fry the chopped vegetables, add meat, boiled pasta, and sauce and stir-fry until it's completely combined...

Hmm, with the correct ingedients, I can grill up meat and stir-fry the vegetables to go with it. Of course, I don't quite go completely from scratch, so there ya go.

I can cook damn good pasta and I can do most basic stirfry dishes. I can cook meat, chicken, fish, and vegetables, but I like doing meat and chicken spicy which pisses off my mom since she can't handle spicy foods. I haven't figured out how to make stews yet and I've just started learning how to use the oven for things other than roast beef and baked potatos. My GF is trying to teach me how to bake cakes & cookies but I still can't make it work without her guidance.

Trying to teach me how to bake cookies would be a waste of time. I have a stick of cookie dough in the fridge, and it's not for baking. :)

You can't bake cookies from premade cookie dough? :o
Now I'm as guilty as anyone else of eating raw cookie dough, but geez, it's not that hard! All you gotta do is spoon it onto a cookie sheet.

I can make cookies just fine with pre-made dough, it's when I have to make the cookie dough from scratch that I run into problems and need my GF's help.

Question, what exactly do you do with that stick of cookie dough?
