Supposedly, you'll be able to make out the polar ice caps with just binoculars, which is as good as it'll get for me.

It's already very bright, and has been for a while. I'm excited!

Im glad I got a pair of old but good binoculars from a relative.
Oohh. I wonder if there will be nighttime viewings at the James Lick Observatory here in San Jose. :)

Oh so that's what that bright orange-ish star outside my window is. I thought it was Jupiter :oops: . I'd better take out my binoculars and check out the martians before they go away again.

Yeah, I tried to look at it last night, but then we got nailed with a fucking thunderstorm that lasted till 6am this morning! :evil:

The 48,000 BC one was pretty cool. I convinced my friend it was the evil cave bear god coming to get him, and conned him out of his bear skull hat.... those were the days.

No luck this time around, clouds and storms for the time being :(
