I know what you mean. We used to go to Wisconsin and stay in Eagle cave over a weakend. By the third time the novelty and coolness about sleeping in and exploring that cave had kind of worn off.RogueIce wrote: Yeah. I might've stayed longer (and thus gotten Eagle) except that they kept repeating the damn trips. Same places, with little variation, which isn't so bad if you're just in, but after a good four years of it...

This thread made me think back to Boy Scouts and I was trying to remember what patrols I had been in. I'm pretty sure I was in more than I can remember but the only two that come to mind are Cobra and Flaming Arrow

Not really, but our patrol flags are a WHOLE different story.Tsyroc wrote:I would imagine that you had very interesting patrol badges.Captain_Cyran wrote:We've had the Sea Men, Shotgun, Diesel, and the Scoutly Tiger Dictatorship (STD).
It was great when the Scoutly Tiger Dictatorship won an award at Scout Camp two years ago.
"This award goes to.... ... ... a patrol of Troop 444"
The Award said STD on it.

I was only in one patrol, but it went through many a name. Braves, Chiefs (still not sure why), back to Braves, and some other variations that elude me right now.

first class, ordeal in oa. plan to make brotherhood and vigil asap.RogueIce wrote:What rank are/were you? If you're 18+, what rank did you get up to? And were you in the OA, and if so, what level?
I'm just suddenly curious since I gotta go to a friend's Eagle Court of Honor next weekend.
Me, I got to Life before I hit 18, was in OA as a Brotherhood member, and I finished out as a JASM (Junior Assistant Scout Master).
I might go back as an adult leader (possibly), if I decide it's worth it, and the last bunch of assholes I left behind have gotten any better since then.
I dont want to lead scouts, tho.

You're getting ready for the Marines and have (seemingly) signed up in DEP, and you're only now First Class?Enforcer Talen wrote:first class, ordeal in oa. plan to make brotherhood and vigil asap.

And, in my Lodge at least, you needed Ordeal for 10 months to get Brotherhood, and Brotherhood for two years to make Vigil (and this assumes EVERYONE in the WHOLE FREAKING LODGE voted for you to get it).
So, uh, good luck with that.
PS: Are those requirements nationwide or vary Lodge to Lodge somewhat?
