This time, he put two goldfish in less than 1 liter of water.
One is dead, the other will die in ten minutes, and he won't let me put it into bigger seperate plastic buckets (refuses to use tank, arrogant, says it wastes water, despite the fact that a few flushes of the toilet wastes more water. At least they lasted 2-3 days in tofu buckets before he transferred them to a casserole container) .

Someone at a store was ranting about Koreans one time. He was saying how here in the US when something goes wrong, people will usually think, "What went wrong? Did I do something? What can I do to make sure it doesn't happen again?"
He said, however, that in Korea (I'm assuming SK) people think themselves infallible. They can't accept that it could be their fault and have to put the blame on something else. He also mentioned somewhere that it also comes into play when raising their kids; they never question themselves, when their kid does something wrong it's always something wrong with the kid.
Or something like that. That was what the person was ranting about.

It's genetic! We must join with nominally caucasian Russia for the quick obliteration of the Yellow menace!

Don't let him get any more fish, did he even rinse out these containers first?

I think so, but still, too many fish in such a small amount of water killed them by depleting the dissolved oxygen. I mean the fish were gasping at the surface before they died.

He at least had whatever passed for a lid on the container open, right?
yeah, not that it made a difference. My mother isn't letting my dad getting more fish.
The buckets of clean water for filling the casserole container had lids on, with very little air in, being treated straight after the tap, put in the container, and lidded, so...
Aren't goldfish supposed to get 3 liters of water per centimeter of length, not including tail?

I've had a goldfish survive for months with a bowl about 5 inches in diameter and 6 inches tall. Must've been one tough fish.
(note: Cause of death had nothing to do with bowl size)
We have ubergoldfish. They've been going strong for about 7, maybe 8 years now IIRC. And they're not the big pond kind you see in parks, these are just the little guys, a few inches.

My friends dad would not let him move his turtle into his room during a cold spell and thus the turtle didnt make it. There was no reason not to let him have the turtle in the room, sometimes immigrant parents just have to be hard asses for no apparent reason.
As for cheap, I think its cause so many were dirt ass poor in China. Another one of my friends mothers didnt even finish 6th grade in Canton.
Now, my dad (we are white ) is the opposite. He grew up rural poor in Colorado. There are certain things, food and heat, he just wont skimp out on.
We tried having koi in the backyard, but animals would always come and eat them. We put up fencing, then electrical fencing, even covered the pond with netting and put up a nightwatch with BB guns. Nothing worked. We gave up on fish and stuck with the dog

I remember in one of my college classes a girl said her parents had the same problem. They lived in Alameda and wanted a Koi pond. Alameda sits right next to the Bay so they ended up watching in horror as storks flew down and ate all the fish!

That would be pretty cool to watch.

Especially if they speard the fish with their bills.

For every One centimeter of fish its preferable to have five gallons of water. Leat that's the rule of thumb we go with in Marine Sicence. And also, unless you want to change the water every fucking day get an air pump (Shep is very much right)
By the way, goldfish are incredibly hard to kill off like that, no offense but your dad is a moron when it comes to fish, just be thankful these are goldfish and not $100 clown triggers in a several thousand dollar setup.
