I am back from Iraq
Hello everyone. I just got back from Iraq, well about a week or so ago and now I have time to go back on line. I have lots of pictures from my time over there, including some true battle shots (low res). I will try and get them up soon.
P.S.
War is hell......but can be fun.

Thanks Stravo. I just started re-reading your fanfic, it is great.Stravo wrote:Welcome back and good job, we're all proud of the job you guys did over there.
One thing I wish I had over there was something good to read. The front line PX did not have much Plus once we got into Baghdad, everything was in Arabic.

Welcome back, you've missed nothing important by comparison.

Well, after I made good use of the Search function, I found he was a Marine Tank Commander with the rank of Captain.LadyTevar wrote:Welcome back, Soldier!

So, it should be, "Welcome back, Marine!" But I'm a nitpicker when it comes to that particular subject.
Anyway, didja blow a lot of stuff up?

Welcome back.
You guys did a bang up job over there. And we are very proud of our troops, regardless of our opinons on the war itself.
Good job!

I didn't know you were a Marine, much less one in Iraq, but I'm glad you came out essentially unharmed.
Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.
Thank you..
and a very big Thank you to LadyTevar for the flash
I am just glad to be home (as is my mother and girlfriend). Yes I am a TC for the USMC, I was in an M1 MBT, and yes I did see lots of combat from day 1 till the end. The Iraq army was not a push over like the media said. I saw many people get hurt...and some killed . Granted the Iraq Army was ill equiped but it was there turf and they fought hard. War is hell but it has to be done. Some people have a hard time understanding that.
For every mile we took they put up a very big fight. But the people of Iraq where very happy to see us. When we rolled in to Baghdad and raised our flag, it felt like being in Times SQ (So many people waving the gold old US flag) and cheering for us.
Like I said I have lots of photos of what I saw over there, some in 35mm and some Dig (some of the photos I have are not pretty but show what war is) . I will be getting them up soon. I will post with the pics a detailed report of what I saw and did.
Thank you once again..

It is an old tradition to name your tank (and since I am the guy in charge)....My tank was called Crimson Blade (for two reasons 1: I was in red unit 1 section 3a and 2: Darth Wong's SSD from the fanfic Conquest). I have a photo of my tank with the name on it.
