Will we see the Lusankya in Ep III?
I don't remember where I read it (it could have been here) but before Palpatine took control of the Old Republic didn't he have the SSD Lusankya secretly built and buried under a mountain in Coruscant? Is it possible that we'll see this in Ep III or am I completely wrong?

It was built in secret at a shipyard and later moved to Coruscant. And the Emperor would have had to blind every person on the planet from noticing, too...Natorgator wrote:I don't remember where I read it (it could have been here) but before Palpatine took control of the Old Republic didn't he have the SSD Lusankya secretly built and buried under a mountain in Coruscant? He had cloaking devices. Now the only problem is to keep people from ramming into it by accident.StarshipTitanic wrote:It was built in secret at a shipyard and later moved to Coruscant. And the Emperor would have had to blind every person on the planet from noticing, too...
And don't forget about the two half-completed Coruscant Death Stars...

I seem to remember something about Palpatine using the Force to make everyone forget about it...StarshipTitanic wrote:It was built in secret at a shipyard and later moved to Coruscant. And the Emperor would have had to blind every person on the planet from noticing, too...

I'm not sure what the timeline is on stardestroyers, but I think we should see the first of the new stardestroyers leaving their berths by the end of the Clone War era. Aferall ships of that size shouldn't just sprout up over night and building 25,000 of them should take some time. It would work for me to see the first of the new class of ships as a symbol of the new Empire, perhaps at the end, when they usually have the musical ending, we can see the first group of stardetsroyers take up formation over Coruscant as Palpatine ascends as Emperor.

As I recall, the first of the Victories rolled off the line (so to speak) toward the end of the Clone Wars.

What does it do to the EU in terms of the Victories if we see Stardestroyers premiering at the end of the clone wars?Crayz9000 wrote:As I recall, the first of the Victories rolled off the line (so to speak) toward the end of the Clone Wars.

It really doesn't matter if Imperators are produced at the same time as Victories. The Victory-class Star Destroyer was built by Rendili Stardrive, while the Imperator-class was built by Kuat Drive Yards. The Victory has a slightly different role than the Imperator (it enter atmospheres like the Acclamators), as well, so I don't see any problems with them coexisting.Stravo wrote:What does it do to the EU in terms of the Victories if we see Stardestroyers premiering at the end of the clone wars?

That isn't the way they work. Cloaking devices do not make a ship look like a big hole in the sky. If they did, in the Thrawn Trilogy people would just be scanning for empty patches of Coruscant sky...StarshipTitanic wrote:Cloaking devices would make it look like a big hole in the sky.
And yes, I know that the Coruscant Death Stars were only a concept drawing.

That is Zsinj's Nightcloak, not the cloaking devices used by the Empire.StarshipTitanic wrote:Cloaking devices would make it look like a big hole in the sky.Crayz9000 wrote:He had cloaking devices. I remember in the X-Wing books it being stated that Palpy also had the option of killing anyone in the area where the Lusankya was burried. Personally i've always considered that most likely. If the Emperor was powerful enough to make billions of citizens develop amnesia then how the fuck did the Rebellion get started much less win.

Yes. Lusankya was construced at Kuat under the name Executor, then burried under the surface of Coruscant. The real Executor was constructed at KDY's Fondor yard in secret.Rightous Fist Of Heaven wrote:Wasnt Lusankya built by KDY?
And I'm very sorry, but I can't help but laugh at the subject of the OP...

Except for the fact that the Victories were designed toward the end of the Clone Wars (likely an Acclamator or Acclamator-successor escort).Crayz9000 wrote:It really doesn't matter if Imperators are produced at the same time as Victories. The Imperator was designed after the rise of the Empire.

I wanna see the ships Curtis Saxton mentioned in the ICS.
Dreadnaughts and VSD are nice, and I hope we see them too but I also wanna see cap ships several miles long just so that stupid EU claim that VSDs were the biggest ships the OR could make is proven wrong.

You know, for a forum off a scientifically based site, it seems to me we see far more of these retarded ass questions by people who clearly have never read the books they are asking about then we do doing any kind of tech analysis or discussion?

Point being? Complain to a mod or something. Become a mod. What are we supposed to do about it?

Oh, and what scholarly deabte would you be having otherwise?Ender wrote:You know, for a forum off a scientifically based site, it seems to me we see far more of these retarded ass questions by people who clearly have never read the books they are asking about then we do doing any kind of tech analysis or discussion
Not everyone has time to read all the books. Furthermore, this question is not answered in the EU. Oh, and I seem to have forgotten that little disclaimer at the top of the page that says the PSW is only tech analysis or discussion. What's that? There isn't one! Oh my!
