Fundies aren't allowed to Fart?

Post by Spyder »

CAPAlert Jay and Silent Bob article

"Impudence/Hate (I)(1):

at least 224 uses of the most foul of the foul words
at least 184 uses of the rest of the three/four letter word vocabulary
flatulence - repeatedly
"Gay. Straight. It's all the same."
'pity me because I am black' sequence
song of foul words"

These guys must get some serious colonic problems by their early thirties. Hell, once they get into their 50s they must be ready to explode.

Do they have any Bible verses to back them up?

If they think flatulence is bad, does that mean they consider Mexican food to be a tool of the devil?

Why must they need Bible verses? There are many Christian sects that rely on other sources for authority (Catholics, Mormons, etc). Open your mind, man! Open your mind! Maybe the Catholics have a documented church council on flatulance.

why is it that just because characters in a movie dont follow the rules of the bible crazy christians condemn such movies as being bad? This has happened with other movies and i remember reading christian reviews of movies that were like "dont go to see it people have pre-maritial sex". Now I dont kill people and i think it is wrong to do so, but that doesnt stop me from likeing braveheart. I think making drugs illegal is wrong but i still like some of the anti-drug propoganda movies for their value as entertainment.

I was reading over what they said about dogma, and they listed in their list of no nos that the movie did, a whole BUNCH of things that the movie while they took place in it, CONDEMNED as bad ideas. So they seem to have a problem with movies mentioning what they consider immorality and calling it immorality.

"Understand that just because a line of the script insults the homosexual lifestyle does not mean homosexuality is not promoted by it -- getting bad "press" (attention) is better than no "press" regarding getting noticed. so then what kinds of movies do they want? ones where nothing they consider immoral happens at all? Im sorry but i dont even think i know of a single movie or anything in the whole entertainment industry in all of human history that doesnt mention something that has a moral message (either positive or negative) Hell even those "left behind" movies involve lots of people dying.

You know, I think the people who run CAP Alert are loons, but at least they're focusing on telling other fundies to stay way from "evil" movies, instead of lobbying Congress to set up a censor board to protect us from big, bad Hollywood.

That is indeed a very good point but I doubt that they would turn down an opportunity to do so.

Erm... I think the CAPalert folks are neither Catholics nor Mormons. Probably some sort of Lutherans.

I find them funny I mean they criticized this
Other concerns might include the use of "666" as part of an address of "66613" in a way as to *clearly* focus attention on the three sixes.
from this

Edit:

I forgot to add that this always amused me on god's morality
Though He could, for example, save the little girl from the drunk driver, He will not take away the drunk driver's free will to drive while drunk even to save the little girl. He may, through fervent prayer for her safety, change things to where the little girl and the drunk do not meet, but He will not take away the drunk's free will to drive drunk. You'll find by close inspection that all the ills and troubles we suffer in life are due to someone's free will somewhere along the line, not God's Will.

And by this logic, the Bible itself is immoral, because it mentions homosexuality, cross-dressing, incest, animal sex, and every other sin in the book...

They probably think that in real life, they avoid all numbers with "666" in them when establishing an address number or something. Of course, there are fundies that point ot certain numbers that are more likely coincidence than some intentionally placed satanic message.

Can we suggest they do a review of End of Evangelion. It might make them commit suicide and spare us their stupidity for the rest of our lifes.
If that doesn't work, suggest Legend of the Overfiend.

I liked their review of Iron Giant. Particularly this:

Wanton Violence/Crime (W):

a storm at sea with a shipwreck and bear drowning
child climbing on to roof to fix antenna
child wandering into the woods late at night by himself
a cartoon of nuclear holocaust in an elementary school
bloody nose
playing in a junkyard
warfare violence
strong focus on nuclear warfare and the nihilistic desperation of it

This site is doing little more than reminding me how cool some movies are...

Blade 2 (2002)

Wanton Violence/Crime (W):

demonic attack with blood spewing
(big snip)
sword fight
impalement of head with explosive device
eating flesh/sucking blood, many, repeatedly, most with blood dripping
ripping flesh
eating head
(snip)
open chest "surgery"
eating of self
(big snip)
many smoldering bodies
(snip)
multiple impalements
many episodes of extreme gore beyond the routine for the show
body sliced in half, top to bottom
additional graphic impalements
long fight sequences, most with swords
