What they did was illeagal anyway. The RIAA tried to violate Amendment XI which prohbits citizens of one state to sue a citizens of another.
The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State.
This is actually a huge setback. Nationwide local courts are much less beholden to the RIAA than are DC ones.
