But the government didn't, right?Montcalm wrote:(Not taking any chances)Most of us in Canada were for the US intervention in Iraq, can you lower the climate here....THANKSSea Skimmer wrote:I'm seriously wondering how long it will be until conspiracy theories start coming out about a US weather control system that's being used to punish the French for not supporting Iraq.
It's a conspiracy theory, such facts are irrelevant.Thunderfire wrote:

the Iraq war AFAIK.
Exactly! Stop trying to cloud the issue with facts.Sea Skimmer wrote:It's a conspiracy theory, such facts are irrelevant.Thunderfire wrote:Portugal and Spain were/are hit worse than france. They supported

Didn't Stalin say, "One death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic" or something like that?Oberleutnant wrote:Three thousand people die and this is how you guys react?
Honestly, there is no truly conceivable way THREE THOUSAND people can die of heat stroke. That's WAY too much. Something's got to be up, and I think most can agree that the French have been too ignorant for their own good.Oberleutnant wrote:Three thousand people die and this is how you guys react?
Storm, I'm sure she's staying in a hotel or someplace with A/C. I never understood Europe's lack of A/C. I could not survive a single hot humid day in NYC without it.Stormbringer wrote:You bastards really have to keep worrying me don't you? I've got a friend over their as an exchange student. I'm sure she knows the value of good water, shade, and light clothes.Stormbringer wrote:You bastards really have to keep worrying me don't you? I've got a friend over their as an exchange student. I know she should be okay but when you see numbers that big it's hard to convince myself of it.
Them and those damn small town Mass people...one reason I'll never again visit my cousins up there in the summer, unless I stay in a hotel.Stravo wrote:Storm, I'm sure she's staying in a hotel or someplace with A/C. Here in Britain you might need A/C for one week a year which isn't really enough time to justify spending money on anything more than a couple of fans. This year we've had maybe 3 weeks where A/C might be needed.Stravo wrote:Storm, I'm sure she's staying in a hotel or someplace with A/C. I never understood Europe's lack of A/C. You're saying that the British are genetically superior to the French? This I like.RogueIce wrote:Natural Selection strikes back.3rd Impact wrote:Apparently most of the dead are among the very young or very old, though it's still strange, considering we've had such weather in the UK and our casualty levels aren't nearly as high (4 or 5, AFAIK)
And here we were trying to thwart Darwin. That'll teach 'em!
