Looks like something the Tandu (The BEMs in the Uplift books) would use. Just as dangerous to the crew as their enemies, but then the Tandu were nutters.
The Tandu were heavy users of probability travel (like the Dune 'traveling without moving' trick) which apparently needs wierd flanges and spikes to disperse excess probability and if the ship survives the jump it then has a few moments to blast the crap out of whoever it suprised. Most races don't use probability travel as there is a good chance of the ship exploding, going somewhere else or something equally dreadful.

Images too large in dimensions... remember that some people use 800x600 screens to view this forum. Remember this in the future Shin.

It is a battleship/dreadnaught after all.
EDIT: The ship's propelled by an inertia/massless drive.

Get some bump on those textures (a veeeery smal amount) and forget close up shos, unless you're going to detail the hull (as in, modelling the cell shapes, instead of using textures).
The glows could be toned down a tad, just enough for the whole ship to be seen better, they swamp the shapes too much.

Close up shots: I've gotten that commentary all around so I'll remember that one.
