I've often thought of how wicked a well-done Star Wars mini-series that didn't focus on the major players would be. Something that involved everyday people in the Star Wars galaxy would be cool. Hell, even something like "Judge Vader's Courtroom" would be badass. :)
Wouldn't Judge Vader be really ... really ... short?

If worst comes to worst and any space battle we get is crap would a CGI scene made without ILM be any good? With Modelers like Crix and Kojikun arround here maybe a SD.Net presentation of how the Battle Of Endor shoulda been might be in order.

The Battle of Endor in RotJ (space) was excellent, just about 10 minutes too short for my taste.

Dooku dying is no big thing since he did nothing in AoTC. He had a fight with Yoda, big wow. Peter Cushing was more menacing in his first ten minutes than Dookus entire (and lets be frank rather short) performance in AoTC.

Maybe Dooku commits suicide to his suffering at the hands of Anakin's whining!

More on Vader

Post by Lord Poe »

In a recent web diary entry, Lucas is asked about one of the scars Vader has (as we see in TESB and ROTJ) His response:
"So how did Anakin get that scar, George?" asks John Knoll

"I don't know. Ask Howard," says George, referring to President of Lucas
Licensing Howard Roffman. "That's one of those things that happens in the
novels between the movies. I just put it there. He has to explain how it got
there. I think Anakin got it slipping in the bathtub, but of course, he's
not going to tell anybody that."
Rick McCallum had a recent chat, and this is one of the questions he answered:
"Does George explain all of Anakin's injuries in this film?"

Yes, except for one.
So, Lucas is leaving it up to the EU to explain one of Vader's injuries?
This is strange. He'd have to receive it AFTER he's been put in the Vader
suit, then. That means a blow THROUGH the helmet?? For one thing, Vader's helmet molds have already been seen in the background of the webcam:

July 29 - 12:33:20 - Vader helmet molds on shelf

so we can assume we'll see a fully suited Vader in Ep 3. Another strange
Vader thing. The folks at Aint it Cool News were fooled yet again into thinking fanart was actually ep3 preproduction art:

http://www.teamgt.com/4.4art/pages/02_char14.htm

But now, if you go to www.starwars.com , there's a pic on sidebar depicting
Dark Horse artwork from a recent comic where a guy in a breath mask similar to Vader's is strolling around with the Emperor! (This isn't Vader, but a Moff who's name I've forgotten). And remember, one of the earliest Vader sketches has him without a helmet.

So what's the deal? Vader is going to be engaged in a MAJOR EU fight to get one of his famous scars??

That GL quote there is yet another nail in the coffin against the no EU bit.

Be interesting to see how the injuries are handles. I would expect Lucas is going to have them occur all at once, but I think it would be better if he gets a bunch, but then we get a sequence of him having more and more bits replaced as he hunts down the Jedi and some of them manage to wound him

Hmm...somehow, "The Adventures of Puce Squadron" just doesn't do it for me :P .

Although I can just imagine the nicknames they'd pick up  .

As far as Anankin's head scar: it's possible that it occurred during the Hunt. A lightsaber could have sliced through the helmet, but not cut completely through Anankin (last-second telekinesis?). Just a possibility, though we'll have to wait for the movie to see whether or not he gains the scar in Ep.3.

Well I guess with how many fighter squadrons there must be in the NR, some one had to get puce.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

The impression I got from the comment from the set diary is that Anakin already has the scar, and Hayden Christansen is sporting the appropriate make-up. If not why would John Knoll be asking Lucas on the set during filming? Anakin probably gets the scar during the course of the Clone Wars before the movie.

IIRC, "Puce" was the name of the squadron in that 3D parody I posted sometime ago that nobody liked.
