Yes jouralism is much older then the civil war, but the camera came of age with the civil war, and that was when the conflict between The cameramans desire to get the good shot, and the surrounding military actions started. Usually with dead cameramen...

Honest mistake. You can't blame soldiers for being alittle jumpy, considering all these attacks that've been happening. I mean, imagine seeing a guy (who's probably crouching) carrying something on his shoulder and pointing said object at you. Now, you're in a country where Al-Qaeda (possibly) and Pro-Saddam groups have been killing fellow soldiers on average, one or two a day. On top of that, you're miserable. You miss your family and haven't gotten any in months. How would you react?
