This is my favorite part:

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

How did a few 1.5-ton vehicles give off hundreds of tons of pollutants?

These people are going to get someone killed soon.

Each time I read such a story - and this is not the first time the ELF is guilty of terrorist actions against auto dealerships - I'm starting to considering it kind of a mystery why they only destroy Range Rover-style off-road vehicles, and not other types of gas-guzzlers such as large luxury cars and high-powered sports cars? (I mean, a Mercedes-Benz S500 or a Chevrolet Corvette consumes just as much fuel as a Toyota Landcruiser)

Yeah, when they break into a lab in London to free chimps being "tortured" by scientists and inadvertantly get turned into killer infected zombies.

They don't have the symbolic value of SUVs.

Now meanwhile these people are burning a vast number of manufactured goods. Every member of this group should be shot and the body burned when captured to preserve the human gene pool.

Really? Correct me if I'm wrong, but to me it appears as though the only SUVs to have the same prestige value as 5-metre luxury sedans are the Range Rover and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The irony is delicious. Foolish ELf, destroying the environment like that.

Is there anyone who likes them? Well, it's certainly not me... idiots. Theyre probably so much "true believers" that polluting the environment, and hurting the environmental movement by giving it a bad name, won't phase them.

Cadillac Escalade and the Lincoln Navigator have high 'prestiege' value as well.

The symbolism isn't in their economic value as prestige/luxury goods; the symbolic value of the SUV is in the fact that, to many Americans, they seem to epitomize waste and ecological irresponsibility, a reaction that other gas-guzzling vehicles don't seem to set off as much. (Possibly because many people intensely dislike SUVs for reasons of safety or aesthetics, which may only intensify their anger towards them on the fuel consumption issue. Luxury cars don't this PR problem.)

Why the hell is it these assfuckers get off torching SUVs, and their leader
gets to issue comminiques and remain a free citizen while Joe Blow, who
gets caught with some black powder is automatically a "mad bomber"?

Oh... I forgot those, but it may just be because I live in the country where the most common large SUVs are the Nissan Patrol, Land Rover Discovery and Toyota Landcruiser.

Not that you can't buy a Navigator in Denmark, but the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is still the vehicle of choice among European industry magnates, and it appears to stay that way.

And despite all that, of course, they're exceptionally popular--which no doubt enrages certain elements which dislike them as above, and in the case of a few fanatics, to the point of engaging in terrorist activities.

I don't consider setting fire to an SUV as a terrorist activity. It's vandalism, not terrorism. As long as they don't kill anyone, they will remain high profile vandals.
