As for how the election may turn out, with the way Gray Davis seems to be melting down and the possible GOP split, I'd lay even money at this point on Cruz Bustamante winding up in the governor's chair come November.
I'm afraid that's the way it will turn out. The last thing we need is another pompous ass in power, and the people who dislike Bustamante the most are probably going to be the most responsible for putting him in power.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if that's not the case.
And the sad thing is, Bustamante is a member of an organization that is basically a Latino KKK. But political correctness and a Democrat-friendly media being what they are, that may not stop him.

Bill Simon is out. There might not be a Republican split and if so, Bustemonte is toast. McClintoc or whatever his name is might bow out soon too. No poll that I have seen gets him about 10% if that.

Sorry but it looks like a Arnie V Bustemonte race with a side show of Coleman, Flint, Huffington, and the pornstar.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Don't forget Gallagher! It has been a freakshow, hasn't it? I think Coleman is doomed, because they had Walter Koenig on Kimmel last night in his B5 costume protesting Coleman because he "stole his watch". :D

I don't know much about American politics, but what are this "latino KKK equivalent"??? Some sort of Mexican ultra-nationalists who support racial segregation and dress like monks?

It's called MECHA ("la Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlanand") it wants to retake the territories we annexed in 1848, by military force if necessary, and evict all the gringos from them by any means necessary. It uses the Aztecs in the same way that the Nazis took from the symbols of Pagan Germany--which is mildly concerning, considering that the Aztecs themselves managed to rival the Nazis in some aspects...

However, I might add that I've never heard that Bustamante is a member of it, and would like to hear some proof of this.

'Scuse me. An "and" slipped in there, the proper name is:

La Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or "The Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan" aka MEChA.

I did just fine this article by Malkin which seems to confirm what Perinquus has said:

Michelle Malkin article on Bustamante's MEChA connections.

I would like confirmation however. If this is true it's highly disturbing, because it means that the equivlant of Benito Mussolini or Francisco Franco has a not-unreasonable chance of being elected governor of the most powerful state in the union, which is incredibly frightening, to put it mildly.

Hmm... while the KKK and Nation Of Islam have gotten some a lot of attention because of their racism, why do we hear about MEChA so rarely?

[idiot]Furthermore, in his latest film, Arnie once again shows his contempt for females by ramming a highly explosive hydrogen fuel cell into one's mouth.[/idiot]

EDIT: Holy flying fuck!
He talked about the satisfaction of shoving a female co-star's head down a toilet, but he said he could "get away with it" with special-interest groups because the female character was a machine.
I see... I take it Kristianna Loken hates men because of the kicking his head off, and indeed grabbing him by the groin and ramming him through numerous walls. :D

Fuck cultural heritage. Especially when it's one that had thousands of people sacrificed by having their hearts cut out during their main holidays and eclipses.

That's the problem with so many PC addled fools. They never look at what the culture espouses, instead it's assumed that every culture has the right to exsist. Who cares that they were murderous semi-barbarians, they have right to exist in their minds. It's simply the fear of making a judgement.

Worse yet, I've had first-hand experience with MEChA, and I can say that it is not pretty. Sure, they try to gloss it over for non-Latinos, but there was no denying the outright coldness I experienced from them. And for fuck's sake, I was working as webmaster for the ASO at my old JC...

I found the Malkin article elsewhere.

This article by Lowell Ponte also has Bustamante connected to the MEChA.

Fresno State's Website mentions Bustamante's MEChA association in the 12th paragraph.

The slogan of MEChA is: Por La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada (For the Race, everything. For those outside the Race, nothing).

MEChA is more concerned with reclaiming "Aztlan," their name for a non-existant and purely hypothetical Aztec nation-state that took up most of the southwest United States.

They honestly don't give two shits about Florida. They just want to have a nice revolution and make their own country, or re-unite with Mexico, as far as I can tell...

Didn't the screenwriter for "Conan" take that line from Genghis Khan Temujin?

I thought Aztlan was some sort of Aztec equivalent of Atlantis or Lemuria?

BTW - does this mean that if Bustamante is elected that then California will seperate from the rest of the USA to become a puppet regime of Mexico?

MEChA is mostly Mexican. Most of the Hispanics in Florida tend to be Puerto Rican or Cuban. I think there are a few of Los Macheteros in Florida, though I'm not sure.

Aztlan is "The Place of Reeds", the Aztec point of origin in their migration to Tenochtitlan. There is ZERO evidence pointing to it being anything but a quasi-mythological region north-west of modern Mexico City. Certainly not anywhere close to the southwestern U.S., an area with no Aztec presence at the time of the Conquest, or any evidence of the Aztecs even knowing a damned thing about the region.

Fucking nationalistic ignorance, excuse me while I vomit.

Funny that you said that - when the Democrats supported racial segregation (and the Republicans didn't) back in the 19th century, the KKK was known to terrorize people into voting for the Democrats.
