Wasn't Clash of the Titans released in the 80's? You must have seen the trailer for one of the many re-releases. It seemed like that happened fairly regularly, especially if one of the sequels was coming up.

The IMDB has CotT being released in 1981. It was probably re-release time in your neck of the woods.

Your right. Maybe it was Close Encounters I saw the trailer at, wasnt that the same year? I do remember seeing the trailer for Star Wars cause it was so unbelievable. But I obviously have the movie I was attending all screwed up.

That seems like it might be right (1977). I didn't see Close Encounters when it came out because the theater was full when we went. We ended up going to Heaven Can Wait and I think we missed the trailers. The first thing I heard about Star Wars was when some of the neighborhood kids started talking about it.

Yeah, we have done this before. I started an age thread once myself, long ago.

Iirc, there's only a few members here older than me. Which felt kind of weird when I though about it, until I realized that I had graduated from high school before a few members were even born. Now I feel really old and crusty

When I was a kid, I remember there being vacuum tube testers in the grocery stores.

...and of course, we wore onions on our belts, as that was the style back then....

Oh, and Shinova, don't feel bad about not being able to drive. Plenty of respectable people never learned how to drive: Spike Lee, Adam de la Pena...I'm sure there's more, but those two should be good enough for you.

As for me, I've had my license for a while now. It certainly does kick ass.

Saw Raiders of the Lost Ark in theatres when I was 7. Couldn't quite understand what was going on and the scene where they opened the Ark scared me.

3 years later and beyond, it turned into one of my favorite movies.
