Can the AQ defeat any power from WH40K?
We already know from the corresponding thread that the AQ would be consumed by the Tyranids.
What chance would the AQ powers have against the other WH40K major powers, assuming no demi-god creatures like Q intervene:
The Imperium of Man: Space amrines, Imperial Guard, Inquisitors, titans, ships that dwarf SW Imperial ships and many, many ways to kill planets.
My opinion: AQ is screwed, especially since the Warp will be 'clean' and therefor much faster and safer.
The Eldar: Severely reduced in number from the birth of Slanesh and the subsequent invasion of Tyranid Hive Fleet Behemoth, but still a strong force to contend with especially in the speed and psychic aspects.
My opinion: AQ is screwed again.
Chaos: Marines turned bad, deamons oh my!
My opinion: AQ is even more screwed. I'd love to see vulcan get attacked by the Night Lords. Let's see the Vulcans be calm, logical and non-emotional then!
The Necrons: Not one of my strengths. Better off asking Necronlord. the no demi-god rule also apply's here so no C'Tanat least not in combat.
My opinion: Not sure, but the AQ is probably screwed.
The Tau and Kroot: A race who's only goal is to help the Greater Good .Can rival the IoM for sheer firepower, but lack a dedicated H-t-H force, hence the hiring of kroot mercenaries.
My opinon: A war would probably not start due to the Greater Good Tau beliefs. But if a war does start then the AQ is screwed.
The Dark Eldar: Same as Eldar just evil. Lack the psychic ability of their good cousins, but make up for it with massive speed.
My opinion: not too sure. The AQ probably stands their best chance against them.
The Orks: Tough, strong, but thick for the most part. A warrior race. A good blend of speed of toughness, but can't shoot accurately at all. Not that matters when you have as large numbers as the Orks. It is still under question as to whether Ork space travel is co-ordinated or random.
My opinion: If Orks are co-ordinated then the AQ is screwed. If not then the AQ might get lucky.
Overall opinion: the AQ is screwed against any of these races, but they stand their best (not a good, just their best) against the Dark Eldar.

It seems that the Tau are the only race that the Feds won't start a war with straight away.

Yeah, that's about the whole of it..
Actually the Eldar Farseers would go into a long, long speech about how the planet was built by the Eldar in a time when their powers were limitless, and how the Dominion had no right to intrude on the History of the bringht people, etc. etc.
Then the Squish

Nasty Nasty.
That's right the Eldar would crush the Alpha Quadrant (if they had a reason to bother). Seriously the WH40K-verse is just way to harsh for AQ do deal with. Even the comparitively nice races (i.e. NOT Necrons, 'Nids, Chaos) have weapons which would horrify the AQ races (personal weapons esp.).
Eldar - Shuriken weapons, Monofilament weapons, D-weapons.
Imperials - Bolters, Flamers, Massive Cannons of Doom(tm).
Tau - Kroot.
Orks - 'Da Boys.
Even if I don't like WH40K game itself I still love the background.

Hmm lets see Imperium of man VS entire AQ races then
They get a year to prepare and Q forced them into a huge allance? What chance do they have?

The noctrnal warriors of the Hrud have a seriously bitchin personal weapon, if they can scale it it (no reason to assume they can't) then the AQ is dead.Tatterdemalion wrote:What about one of the less well known (ie. exist purely in the fluff and have no actual models) races of 40k universe? You know, like the Hrud or Jokaero or whatever.
The Jokero have been around for millions of years and can fit a pistol type weapon into a small ring, and that's export quality. Again the AQ are dead.

So to sum up the opinions:
The AQ is f*cked.
New question, would the feds/rommies/klingons/etc. be able to deal with a genestealer cult on one of their worlds?
