Conspiracy or Coincidence ?

Post by Sam Or I »

I live in Fresno California. Yesterday I went to Riverside (a shopping/entertainment center, it has things like target, barnes and nobles, best buy, the biggest movie theatre in town ect...ect...), to get something from Best Buy. I was the next one in line, and the power of the whole shopping center went out, which is about 4 city blocks. I was thinking shit just my luck. They eventually kicked everyone out of the store after about 15 minutes. I was on a mission to get the 2 towers, so I decided to wait for the power to come back on. Outside, I here music with the song "we are not going to take it" coming from the middle of the square. (Must of had seprate generators)Then I remembered Arnold is on his campaign here, and the Mayor (Alan Audry) is endorsing him. Listen to Arnold, then went to a starbucks to sit and wait for the power, about 45 minutes after Arnold left the power came back on. So I am curious was this a coincidence? Or was something planned to make Arnolds turn out to look bigger than it actually was. Riverside is the most popular place to go to movies, and be entertained in Fresno, with the power out the only thing to do while they wait for the power to comeback on is listen to a camaign speech. Just makes me think, most likely just coincidence, but still there is that chance.

I highly doubt it. Never chalk up to malice what can be explained by imcompetence. It's more likely just more trouble with the power. You did have those rolling black outs.

It was most likely that the power grid could not handle all the press broadcasting equipment. It was still weird and very bad timing. (Don't get me wrong I am still voting for Arnold.)

It was more likely a coincidence. We have not had rolling blackouts in a while. Since Enron fell from grace and the economy slowed down there is no shortage of power.

That's hilarious. If I hadn't been late getting into town, I would have been at the Riverpark center over at Boarder's Books right across the street. I don't think that the Barnes center is even called Riverside, its Belagio or some crap like that. Sorry I missed out, I would have liked to see the Governator in person. My parents are pretty sure it was the media equipment that blew out the power.

I'm visiting my parents in Fresno right now. If you want to try and kill me (I'm sure there's still people who do) now is your chance. I didn't know anyone on this board had the (mis)fortune of being from the rasin capitol of the world.

Incidentally, the mayor of our city is named ALAN AUTRY  But I'll always call him "Mayor Bubba"

I think it was part of his campaign. Honestly. I think the set the entire thing up for show, because you have to admit, it was a very good show. Movie stars know how to play to th audience, and things that help them do that generally are not coincidence, especially something so perfectly timed as this. Good showmanship on Arnie's part.

Yeap, good old fres-hole. I just moved back here in March, they finally got a Best Buy, so I guess it is slowly improving. You know we used to have the number one Murder Rate per capitol, to bad we lost it. Only Fres-hole would elect "Bubba" mayor.

They've had the Best Buy for a while now, at least 3 or 4 years.

I don't think we've ever had the #1 murder rate, but for a while we had #1 in car-jacking per capita. Its funny, because that was around the time that Madera (which is the city on the other side of the river) was #1 in teen pregnany per-capita. I guess all the guys were stealing cars to drive for Madera.

But don't knock Bubba, I voted for him. Every weekday afternoon when I'm at my house I watch reruns of "In the Heat of the Night". I love watching my mayor go down to Calhoun Creek to bust moonshiners.
