"Carbon Creek" ENT

Post by RayCav of ASVS »

Ok, first let's get down to business....

I'm reminded of some very wise words I once heard......

Image

Ok now that we've got that out of the way....

It's now way beyond even official. ENT sucks ass, even with just the second episode of the second season.

Once again, B&B fuck with canon - not only CANON THEY THEMSELVES CREATED, but now with real history too, in typical Voyager fashion!

More preaching about "primitive human society" (Did I mention B&B can suck TOWNMNBS' balls off?)

And overall it just plain sucks.

For those of us fortunate enough not to have seen this, may I ask what happened that was so offensive?

Especially While I can now tune in Fox (Very barely) the mountains and the fires combined have rendered WB and UPN unrecievable. Still can't watch Enterprise (No loss) but missing SMALLVILLE!!!!

I only watched ten minutes. That's how quickly I was offended.

Basically, T'Pol tries to reinvent "First Contact." Reed tells her that FC was made in Montana per the movie, then she says it was really in Carbon Creek, Penn. in 1957. Reed says "That's bull and you know it, bitch! Now get naked so I can spank you!" (Oh come on, we all know about his secret fantasies with T'Pol!). T'Pol says, "Nope, you're wrong, it was in 1957." Reed says "Oh yeah? Then why didn't the Vulcans tell us? And why the hell aren't you naked yet?" Then T'Pol says "It's in the Vulcan Archives."

Anyway, T'Pol's great grandmother was XO of a mission to examine Sputnik. But their impulse engines went on the fritz and they ended up crashing at Carbon Creek, Penn. They steal some clothes (yes, another Joline Blabcock naked seen, though granted she's behind a linen sheet). They then see a bunch of people returning home from work and conclude that they are proliteriate laborers. They hear a baseball game and conclude it is some violent combat for entertainment (Did I mention that B&B can suck TOWNMNBS' balls off?) They walk into a bar. Then commerical break. At that point (first 10 minutes) I was already so offended I came to my computer to go here.

No, First Contact was made in 1938, a young jedi from a planet destroyed by the galactic empire's Deathstar, landed in a small field in the midwest. The force sensitive, could leap very far (Force leap), had enhanced reflexes and strength, and other abilities shown in the series. Now where the mythologists came up with all this crap about heat vision, flying, Kryptonite we will never know.

I think the only reason they decided to do that plot point in the episode was because "vulcan" and "velcro" sound sorta alike.

They can't even get basic history right. Velcro was created before WWII, it just didn't appear in the US until after the war. The damn FRENCH had it.

Although Senthetic Fibers (Nylons, plastics) etc. Did exist back then, they weren't widely available. Infact WWII was the big boom for the development of Sythetic fibers.

Hey RayCav did you miss the fact that it was said to just be a made up story at the end?

I think something crashing 6 km outside of a town would have been noticed by someone in the town. It was summer after all, based on the kid saving money for college tuition and baseball was being played. Also the UFO craze in 1950s pop culture would have some people in town watching the skies. The kid saving for college would probably have been watching for anything unusual in the sky.

Eh, i usually shut out the crappy writing and destruction of continuity. When i do that, i can enjoy episodes. The next episode looks pretty cool, but the Romulans have cloaking devices. I guess thats why nobody knew what the FUCK a cloaking device was in "Balance of Terror" Thanks, BB. You fucking fucks.
