ASVS denizens

Post by LordShaithis »

Anyone care to compile a quick list from memory of the old-time ASVS peeps we have around here?

I guess Lord Wong counts, though he had left the NG before I ever started. Dalton, Shep, Marina, plus Kynes and Celes recently, Poe has been around, I've seen LT. HITMAN post here before... Who else?

Chuck Sonnenburg, though he isn't around much. Also Rob Wilson CommanderWilkens, Graeme Dice, Spyder, AtomikChicken, Phong Nguyen, Kazuaki Shimazaki (sp?), Stuart Mackey, and The Yosemite Bear. RayCav, Deimos, and Jonathon Boyd were here but left. There are probably a few more.

It's not a forum, it's a newsgroup. No url, you'll have to use a news client to get to it. (Outbreak express or similar has one).

Phil Skayhan and Pablo Sanchez. I think Strowbridge was here for a while. That's all I can think of.

I've been around ASVS since late '97.

Forte Agent (or Free Agent) and XNews work well. As for a news server, you can check out http://news.individual.net/ (formerly news.dfn-cis.de).

Though you may not know it from the SGotM statistics, I'm still hanging around ASVS. Not sure when I joined; my outbox in Agent only goes back to May of 2000, when I had to format. I don't feel like looking up my first post on Google. :)

Of course, ASVS has been exceptionally dead for the past few weeks.

According to the First Posts section on Skayhan.Net and also my own search on Google Groups, this is your first post on ASVS.

ASVSers don't say his name for a reason. We simply say TOWNMNBS (The One Whose Name Must Never Be Spoken). While there's no way to be sure if the guy that stopped in was really TJ, as far as purely asinine stupidity goes, they were both roughly equivalent. Since trolls don't enjoy the same levels of distinctions that actual human beings with brains do, they might as well have been the same person, whether it was physically true or not.

Which is very odd, since Jehovah's Witnesses always travel in pairs. :)

Wasn't there a Jimothy Tones that showed up here, too? I think they mentioned he/she/whatever had also been on ASVS.

I wasn't trying to insult either Tyralac or Enigma. I just think that it's just a funny observation that both were on ASVS, only one is here, both are Jehovah's Witnesses, and Jehovah's Witnesses always travel in pairs. :)
