I Just Bought a Doll...
Some of you out there would probably never think of doing such a thing, but I finally went out and bought myself a doll today.
But not just any doll. I went over to Daydream Comics between classes and picked up a doll of Lain from the anime Serial Experiment Lain for $25.
It's a pretty nice doll, with twenty points of articulation, including double-jointed elbows and knees, and a well painted head with solid plastic hair. Lain appears to be 1:6 scale, dressed in her school uniform and coat, and comes with a laptop and cloth backpack for accessories. I decided to put the laptop in her backpack to help give it more shape, and let me tell you, it was a real bitch to get that thing onto her back and make it look good.
I'll have to get a doll stand for her pretty soon, since now she's just sitting on the edge of my bookshelf. Overall, I think she's pretty neat.
So in closing, I want to say that I bought a doll and I'm pretty damn proud of it.

It's not a doll. It's a figurine.

Faggot!
Males only buy "action figures," or "collectable figurines!"
You didn't buy any of those poo poo dolls I saw linked here did you?
(Anime ceramic scat figurines! Got to love those Japs! )
D'oh!
I forgot about the other kind of doll, with holes in it!
Go get 'em, Spanky.

Buddy of mine bought a pair of Golgo figures on a motion-sensor platform. Pass the sensor and he turns around and shoots ya!

Not exactly. Mine came with her school uniform, but both are part of the same line. Unfortunately, no camera = no pics until the weekend.Rubberanvil wrote:Spanky it this the one you bought? http://www.animenation.com/toy-1530.html
And $25 is a pretty good price to pay for a doll of this quality.

The only figurine I've ever bought was Buddy Christ.

Actually that's more than enough to buy an anime DVD, online.Andrew J. wrote:Meh, it's not any worse than a Ghidorah plushie, and I plan on getting one of those someday.
Still...25 dollars!? That's almost enough money to buy an anime DVD!
And you should see my summer fun Cthulhu with Hawaiian shirt and straw hat.

Ok they are 12" tall fully poseable "Action Figures", Grendel has 32 points of articulation,m, Approximatly 20 points on Wolfwood, and Jango has a wireframe. And Rei has 24 points of articulation, and comes with a multisected member of the "Fang Brotherhood".
The scariest folk song lyrics are "My Boy Grew up to be just like me" from cats in the cradle by Harry Chapin

Goddammit, Spanky, you're such a sissy.
If you were half the man I was, you'd spend your cash on men's toys.
