Christian Radio fucking over NPR!

Ive just heard that a bunch of donkey fucking christians are trying to invade National Public Radio. America is going to hell in a handbasket, and its not even fun on the way down, god damn it! I am now going to start an anti-christian group in school. I will put the ACLU on speed-dial when my basic rights are violated.

Anti Christian groups tend not to go down well with people, at my school, there is a small group of people who gather for Christian reasons, it's all school approved, some people then tried to create their own similar group based on all religions and just enjoyment of life etc. They got notes sent home just for the SUGGESTION to the principal.

We want Christians on NPR ... the more people who hear what they actually beleive ... the more people who will reach intelligent decisions on their own.

We should then try to get the same gig for the Budhists, Muslims, etc.

Anti-Christian groups generally don't work, everyone gets pissed and the school officials get annoyed. Start a "Persecution Awareness Club" and show how various religions have taken maiming, torturing, etc. each other and everyone else. Make posters about the Inquistion, the Puritan Witch trials, Muslim/Christian violence the world over, etc. You might even be able get a somebody like Amensty international to back you.

Any moron can scream insults at fundies ... it takes a master to insult them with intelligence, creativity, and their own blessing (initially)

About as bad as PBS banning part of a show here for (good ol' boy, and that is very different from redneck) whites doing a Creole accent and calling it racist. The whole thing was they were reading for the cameras several scripts they had written for radio. Because one of the characters is from Louisiana and they tried to use a Creole accent, PBS found in offensive.

Agreed. You can't get far by promoting attack against a highly popular institution. They may be all deluded, but they're in charge. Far better to create a group that refuses to acknowledge Christian beliefs. Look at it from the point of view of offering a community for those who feel alienated by the overwhelming Christian presence.

I found in high school (way back when) that atheists were often 'closeted' about it, and that there was *ENORMOUS* peer pressure to declare a belief in some sort of supernatural bigwig. You might find that if you offer a discussion group or whathaveyou for people like you, without resorting to antagonism, that you'll win over more hearts and minds.

It's surprising how jumpy people get, isn't it? PBS would be the public tv for you folks, right? If so, I can at least understand their pull-the-plug panic. I've had some contact with media-types and they are enormously protective of their standing in public's opinion.
