Go for it!! B&B have fucked with Trek long enough. Dropping the Temporal Cold War crap will be a go start!SolidSnake wrote:I have an idea. I'm going to completely re-write Enterprise episodes, not write the ones that are inconvieniant. Drop the Temporal Cold War altogether. What do you guys think?

Unfortunately such activity would impede my plans for the future. I doubt your little insurgency will not last long when several tank armies emerge from their underground bunkers and super hardened shelters to do battle.THe Yosemite Bear wrote:Sounds good, I am still working on seizing the Airports, and radiostations near paramount, before starting the Coup. Why does this not surprise?
With a tropical storm blowing in, and The Civil War on PBS, tonight's episode of Boobyprise completely slipped my memory (not that I was making a special effort to remember anyway). I did see the promo trailer while chanel surfing, and the moment I saw the one Vulcan blathering about catching I Love Lucy on TV, I knew I pretty much saw the whole episode in a nutshell. Just take the Ferengi In Roswell episode from DS9, add in bits from First Contact and "City On The Edge Of Forever", add to blender and set for High Puree, pour and serve.

Okay, fuck B&B, fuck Enterprise, fuck them all.
How long are they going to shovel this offensive bullshit until somebody wakes up and tosses them into a pit of rabid dogs?? How long??

until someone rips Trek out of their paws.
Seriously it astounds me they no longer accept outside help(and can you guess how they got their jobs)
Sad, but true...so until they have driven Trek into the cold deep earth, we'll see them perverting Trek more and more...I dunno maybe the rumor of Sarek being Half human/half Vulcan may prove true.

Umm...isn't it part of the Trek timeline that Vulcans knew about Earth and thought that we are primitive? Until the Phoenix acheived warp one? Aside from B&Bs historical errors, doesn't a Vulcan expedition to 1950s Earth fit into the timeline? The 2051 First Contact was the official contact between two warp-capable, spacefaring species.

Vulcans thought Earth was of no interest when they passed it just before they spotted the Phoenix.Doomriser wrote:Umm...isn't it part of the Trek timeline that Vulcans knew about Earth and thought that we are primitive? It would make no sense for them to know about it before, why would they be poking around an area they had already visited and declared primitive?

Its makes perfect sense. How would the Vulcans know Earth was of "no interest" if they hadn't visited before? In First Contact, their destination wasn't earth, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be flying by, or studying something else of interest in the area (there's more to the solar system than earth).Evil Jerk wrote: Vulcans thought Earth was of no interest when they passed it just before they spotted the Phoenix.

Um.. because they gave it a casual looksie and found nothing but post-atomic cave mannery?Zoink wrote:Its makes perfect sense. And again, if they've already been there like 100 years ago, that's more than enough time to have surveyed and looked over that region of space. In First Contact, their destination wasn't earth, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be flying by, or studying something else of interest in the area (there's more to the solar system than earth).

Yes a possibility. Doesn't rule out mine though. You said the plot was unreasonable. I need only give a reasonable explanation, I don't need to prove its true.Evil Jerk wrote: Um.. because they gave it a casual looksie and found nothing but post-atomic cave mannery?
Again its a possibility. But who said they surveyed that area completely? Or that they didn't need to follow-up on an old observations, of say Jupiter, to verify predictions. And again, if they've already been there like 100 years ago, that's more than enough time to have surveyed and looked over that region of space.

I don't care, anything to rationalise another of B&B's attempts to have their characters take credit for something already established doesn't go down well with me.Zoink wrote:Yes a possibility. 100 years later?
Why don't they just use a telescope?

Ahh, well.
Even though they ARE complete and utter morons (B&B, though Braga's way worse than Berman - Did you hear what he said about 'The Andorian incident' and 'Silent Enemy'? In case you didn't, I'll put it here: The Andorian Incident
"We've heard a few complaints about the reveal at the end where a curtain is accidentally shot away by phase pistols. We debated that and struggled with it. It could have looked better and it was a little cheesy that a stray shot hit it, but how cool was it when the door opens and we learn that the f*****g Vulcans were lying? That was pretty cool."
Silent Enemy
"I thought it was cool to see the phase cannons and do an episode where it's really pretty f*****g dangerous out in space."
What a fool.), don't knock them TOO hard. Trek is just out of ideas, but you really wouldn't appreciate that as much as a die - hard trekker might. After all, Star Wars has made just 5 films on the same relative theme in the last 25 years or so, but Star Trek, on the other hand, has done 10 films (by Dec. 13th, anyway), around 630 episodes (not including ENT season 2 and the Animated series), all of them on diverse and interesting scientific themes, and all of this in 36 years, it's not surprising that B&B have reverted to old plots and sex - selling. The only depressing thing I can find is that we may have to endure this for another 5 seasons...

Three rings for the NATO leaders under the sky,
Five for the UN defense board in their halls of stone,
Nine for the weak allies, doomed to die,
One for the patient man on his throne
In the land of America where all nukes lie.
One Bush to rule them all, One Bush to find them,
One Bush to bring them all and in the UN bind them
