I never liked his work, it always tried too hard to pander to one side of the argument and in the end made it so ridiculous that justified critiques from the Left looked like shrill screaming. I'm not surprised at all that its come to this. The Village Voice in general annoying and ascerbic as it was has become all but unreadable now.
