Recycled money
I noticed in you are in the military the money that you get paid that already comes from taxes gets taxed again, when they take it out of your paycheck. Was there ever a time when soldiers didn't get paid, but got some kind of compensation for thier work instead? I would think a slave army would be the worst thing to have, what if they ever turn on you?

What does slavery have to do with it?
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

However unlike other Federal workers, when enlisted soldiers enter a combat zone there pay is no longer taxed nor is a portion of that of officers.Howedar wrote:Every Federal worker of course, not just members of the armed forces.
"This cult of special forces is as sensible as to form a Royal Corps of Tree Climbers and say that no soldier who does not wear its green hat with a bunch of oak leaves stuck in it should be expected to climb a tree"

True, however civilian federal workers and contractors under certain circumstances can exempt the first $70,000 from taxes if they are overseas. I do not know all the details at this time just that fact you can do that.Sea Skimmer wrote:However unlike other Federal workers, when enlisted soldiers enter a combat zone there pay is no longer taxed nor is a portion of that of officers.Howedar wrote:Every Federal worker of course, not just members of the armed forces.
Oh, many Federal as well as State workers do not contribute to Social Security, they all have their own plan.

That is one quick way to really get a good look at how much money you lose to income taxes. Just a few months tax free, without any extra hazard pay or anything, really adds up quickly.
