*snaps fingers*

If they are going to have a prototype Death Star, then they would have that one research facility from the EU that made a prototype Death Star... and that means that Daala would be the EU character they would be having show up in Episode 3. :P

Really?? Daala was 37 by the time of "Jedi Search", meaning that by ANH she'd be 25 years old...

Just to throw in my own speculation here....I personally don't have much of a problem with a Death Star prototype appearing in Episode 3. It could even work, if you have it go something like this:

-The Geonosians build a prototype Death Star, mostly a 'proof-of-concept' model, but it's got a working superlaser.
-Palpatine, who the prototype was built for, is able to use it as proof that the Seperatists have gone too far and must be obliterated. Cue massive space battle.
-Palpatine makes announcement that the Jedi were in on it.

Badda-bing, badda-boom. So what do you think, sirs? :)

If they do show the Death Star it better be known to be at Kessel.:)~Jason
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I think Church was just trying to be vague. In another hyperspace chat that occured this week. Pablo Helman(the set diary guy) said that the Death Star doesn't figure into Ep3's story,

I would be very suprised if we see a death star in the next film.

Who cares how long it took them to build DSI? They built the much larger DSII in six months, in secret. It matters not at all.

Maybe by "X-wing prototype", they really meant the Z-95 Headhunter. The Z-95 would be perfectly suitable for Episode III.

He also said that he just designed an X-wing prototype. There's a good chance that they might not even use it in the final version of the film.
