Upshot Knothole wrote:And yet somehow this "idiot" has consistently outmaneuvered his political opponents at home and abroad and accomplished everything he set out to do. He had the vision to overthrow a tyrant in Mesopotamia while the rest of the world was content to let a madman develop WMDs.
His political "opposition" at home are a pack of cowards who've forgotten what political opposition actually is, so it didn't require genius to roll people afraid to fight him. And knocking over some pissant little thug with less than half the military strength he had twelve years earlier and bereft the capacity to develop WMD (sorry, but that's what the evidence to date clearly demonstrates) of any sort is no accomplishment. Particularly as the result has been one Hugely Fucked Up Mess.
I also find it hilarious that the same people who insisted our President kowtow to the United Nations in a matter of American security now don't want the UN to help secure the peace and freedom of the Iraqi people.
Since that is not what is being argued, this assertion is nonsense.
And you all cared so much about those people when Butcher Bush was coming to get them, but now you'd let them suffer just to spite a man you irrationally hate. Hypocrites all, in my opinion.
Drivel.

Not only does the evidence clearly demonstrate that, it's what David Kay is going to say when he delivers his report- noone's seen fit to comment on that thread- it's further down the page, in case you haven't seen it. Instead, they're saying that when sanctions/inspections were over, Saddam planned to rebuild his stockpile. Well, who woulda thought! So much for the bullshit rhetoric about the failure of the UN inspections/sanctions regime, the absolute certainty as to the existence of huge stocks of NBC weapons, and the rest of the bullshit that was put out for months on end.

Yeah, we're about 1/3 into September, and still no magic report on WMDs that would vindicate the administration.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Dipshit Asshole's post was neocon (I prefer the term Freeper myself) wanking to the nth degree? Check out his sig; I wonder if he's one of those fruitcakers that thought Clinton raped Juanita?

What about those Al-Samouds that we found? Aren't those good enough evidence in your eyes or have they been debunked?

I really fail to see how Bush expects to find WMDs before he's voted out on his arse, they keep using the time excuse and the fact that Iraq is so big, yet they can't keep feeding this crap to us indefinitely.

CEOs for companies that don't make profits for one quarter get examined, if they continually fail to generate profits then they get the sack. Bush so far has not given us any of the goods and is actually making a pigs ear of this whole situation. The people want evidence and reassurance that Iraq was a good idea.

The Al Samoud 2s were declared by Iraq as exceeding the 150km limit on such weapons by up to 33km in test flights (183km being the highest achieved). Iraq argued that the final range would be less than 150km. Regardless, the missiles were tagged (so UNMOVIC could detect their movement) and UNMOVIC then went about supervising their (and the production equipment) destruction up until the last day of the war- since Iraq declared them and then proceeded to destroy them as it was called on to do, it can hardly be used as a justification.

Yeah, I'm getting the feeling that either he's a hideously ambitious and brave gadfly, or just a trolling asstard who's being contrary to piss off a bunch of Internet geeks. I hope for the former, but believe he's the latter.

Hehehe.
Well, Mister Bush has asked for eighty-octopod dollars on national TV and has thus doomed the interweb to even higher levels of inane chatter. You see, somehow political discussion has gone from being the process by which people on TV decide who the president will be to the process by which the dumbest people in the universe make inanely stupid sarcastic remarks to each other. I'll make two example people (I'll name them Frosty and Meson because... hey!)

MESON: President Bush is stealing my tax money! And he is stupid! HAHAHA! SHRUB!
FROSTY: Hahaha. At least he doesn't LIE ABOUT SEX ALL THE TIME like Clinton! HAHAHA!

Now, I know what you're thinking -- why can't we just set everyone in the world on fire? Now, at first that sounds like a very good idea. But! Here's the snag: as smart as Trelane and I are, neither of us knows how to make ground beef. The population of Very Stupid People (~six point three billion) is necessary as it forms a complex support web for cheeseburger production.

So there we have it. My political feelings in a nutshell: you're stupid, make me a cheeseburger.

I KNEW there was a reason for the mass of stupidity :D And now you've confirmed it. Thanks Bob! Cheeseburger production is essential to civillisation

I like the way you stick up for him even though he's an obvious troll who never answered any rebuttals to his tripe. Could it be due to the fact that he appears to have neo-con views?

Mind you, the fact that it turned out to be a sock-puppet created expressly for the purpose of trolling just makes it even funnier.

You would have a point if this was the first time I had ever protested giving a custom title to someone, but it isn't. I was against NapoleonGH getting a custom title, and I even thought Ted should have been given one more chance before his final banning.

In both their cases, they were capable of arguing for their points. Upshot Knothole, on the other hand, was an obvious troll from day one.

Well, he wasn't an obvious troll to me. Then again, I had only seen one or two of his posts when I made the statement, so I could be in the wrong.

Isn't it lame for Bush to ask the UN - the useless, powerless organisation that threatens America with inaction - to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq? I'm not saying they shouldn't, or won't - there are still *people* starving and such - but it's so low-class to ask for help after all the vitriolic bluster.

He's a shitty public speaker. That doesn't mean he's stupid despite what some people claim.
"Shitty public speaker" is giving him too much credit. Abraham Lincoln was a shitty public speaker as well. Dubya, on the other hand, apparently has a grasp of the English language so tenuous one wonders how he graduated high school.
Perhaps you misunderestimate him.

As an interesting note, making up words in this fashion is actually a symptom of schizophrenia.

Oh well : () I think he is a good president. He is a political, they are all bad in their own ways. I just think that bush is the lesser of many evils we have had so far. He is doing the best he can. If you can do better, why do you not try to run for office?

And as for bush being a "stupid" person.......they do have speech writers. Maybe you should be looking behind the man that speaks to see who is really stupid.
