New England.

Manhattan Chowder. It is much spicier and flavorful than the New England variety.

Blasphemy. the only true chowdah is new england clam chowdah. Unless it's made with gator tail....I'm seriously going to try that. Then it becomes Florida Gator Chowdah and OWNS YOU ALL! ;-)

I think they may have had it briefly at the aptly named stand, the Bread Boule, at Pennsic, but I've never seen it elsewhere.

It'd be easy enough to make one...buy a sourdough loaf, some campbell's chunky new englad style clam chowdah, cut out the middle, grab some harvest crisps, crank the A/C down to 15 degrees (simulating northern winter) bundle up, and pretend you're sitting on a boston dock, looking out at the harbor, in a recliner, eating my clam chowdah in a sourdough loaf with harvest crisps...5 grain, of course....mmmh.....then I go inside where it's warm.

Any of the "Cheers" establishments serve it. I had some recently coming home from MO in the St. Louis Airport.

Anyway I don't think this is even a contest, New England.

Right here. It's very easy, actually. And what most people are accostumed to is way too thick. Not the one, true, traditional chowder.

Apparently so is repeating other people's posts while adding nothing other than blowing up their tiny speech. Now less chatter and more tips on making chowdah.

Where in South Florida are you? I'm in Orlando, it's still kinda freaky to eat seafood about 45 minutes from the coast...

Pembroke Pines, which is west of Ft. Lauderdale.

Hell, I've eaten seafood on the coast :D

The first place I ever had clam chowder was at a restaurant on Fisherman's Warf in San Francisco. It was only the appetiser/soup but ever since then I've been hooked, and prefer to eat it in a sourdough bread bowlwhen I can. :D

New England clam chowder, although it has to be very thick with seafood bits. Manhattan clam chowder could be excellent if it's done with the right spices, but usually it just ends up tasting like tomato soup with some seafood chunks in it.
