OK, I downloaded the demo (three hours on dial-up... ouch) and it was pretty cool. The text seems to be really screwed up and difficult to read, though. Is that typical or just my machine?

Of course, now I have to know whether I actually show up in the game at some point...

Ted: The problem is caused by the game fonts not being installed into your Windows fonts directory. Try looking in the Program Files folder where it installed (C:\Program Files\ASCII\RPG2000) and copy it to C:\windows\fonts. After you do that make sure you preview both fonts to make sure they work, and you should be good to go.

I'm surprised at that as I didn't think Bjorn posted that much to SB, and if I remember correctly this is a SB based sequel/rendition. So I would expect only a few ASVS denizens to show up (preumedly the biggies like Chuck will regardless that they've never posted on SB, simply because he's a big part of the Identity of ASVS), but I'm expecting a weighting towards SB posters, they are afterall the ones Steve knows best.

Well, by virtue of numbers a lot of SBers will be in it, but I've also put in ASVS and SD.net personalities, including ones that Doomriser forgot in the last (cough*Transcend*cough).

But it also includes people from two other web forums, The Frontier and Agora, who play some role. Though all of the PCs are recognizable on SB and ASVS.

And there are sixteen PCs. Well, eighteen, but two of them are one-time only PCs. You get an even larger selection of characters than the last part of AOTT, and if I can figure out the proper combination of variables and switches, I may even try to code something into the final level to make it somewhat like Kefka's Tower from FF6: namely, four different parties making their way through.
