Disney selling disposable DVDs

I see this as a complete waste.

1. you can rip the darn things.
2. it just increases the amount of trash overall.
3. Disney does not have a *need* to compete with the rental places.
4. it's cheaper to rent form Blockbuster
5. 3x the price, last 2-3 decades.

In short, why bother?
