Worst job you know of

I'd say Outhouse Deepener, but I don't think that's actually a job. I think the guys who put on the heavy padding and let attack dogs train on them have a pretty shitty job. I once read though, that the worst job to have was cowboy or lumberjack. Isolation, long hours, crappy pay, high rate of injury, and chance of death. Becoming a soldier knowing you may die in a war is one thing, dying for wood is another.

*sign* I can already hear people joking about dying for 'wood'.

Hm, anything with old people, teenagers, or dead things must rank highly.

A friend of mine that worked at some stables tells me of a gruesome job, in which they essentially have to put their arms under the horse's foreskin to remove cockcheese and sometimes down the urethra if there's a blockage of some kind, presumably after they remove it they get showered in piss.

Oh and anything to do with sewerage around fast food places, all the broiler gunk that must clog up the pipes...ack.

The worst job i've ever had would have to be a toss-up between retail (sales associate) and telephone screening for medical studies. I'd put the telephone screening first, because people will be unpleasant to you over the phone in ways they'd never dream of if you were standing right there and able to pummel them senseless for it. Some of my friends had worked both fast food and retail: they considered retail an improvement.

As far as the absolute worst job I can think of, either door-kicker for the SWAT team or inner-city schoolteacher. Either carries a good chance of catching a bullet.

The worst job i ever had was in a chippy when i was 17. I used to go to the chipy straight from school and peel and chip his potatoes before it opened for the dinner rush. The jod itself wasn't bad, however i worked for a nasty cheap bastard. HE said that becasue the last guy to do my job could do thet job in 3 hours i was only getting paid for 3 hours regardless that it took longer. He then charged me for my dinner if i ate in the place and last of all when i fell on the slippery floor cracking open the back of my skull he complained about me bleeding in a food prep area. i had the last laugh though. When the residents in my area where told about what happened, my mother is a pillar of the community*, they boycotted the chippy putting him out of business.
