your missing the point... Im not talking about the games themselves or even how they play. It is just a fantasy fight, Besides VF and Tekken characters have plenty of counters.weemadando wrote:OK, DOA wins, followed by VF followed by Tekken...
Why? Because DOA have semi (emphasis on SEMI) realistic counters and throws that you need to master. VF has a decent block/counter system while Tekken is just combo mania that would get pasted by Shun-Di.

I'm not so sure about DoA or VF, but Tekken DOES actually require some sort of skill. Trust me. I am a loyal fan to it...and I bite...theheap wrote:your missing the point... In predicting these fights, I think we are going to have to deal with the "super power" factor here, the ability of a pugalist to variously project his/her opponant large distances, break solid objects and suchlike. VF, appart from some things like kicking a person higher than their own head displays no "super powers". Tekken is a little better with some of the power punches projecting their assailants across the screen (not forgetting Hworang's gravity defying three kick arial combo) but DOA wins hands down here. Not only fo most 3 and 4hit combos result in one of the unfortuanates hurtling across the screen, but they regualy shatter stone pillars, brick walls and other obsticals. To top it off, these guys think nothing of chucking their opponents 50 or more meters down onto solid surfaces before continuing the fight. To top it off, these guys enjoy fighting in such arenas as metal cages with enough current passing through to cause quite a light show when one unfortuanate decides to try self-barbaqueing. With the recent release of teken 4, Phoenix andco have made up some ground on DOA with the ability to shatter concrete statues and such but this still leaves DOA out in front in the "super power" department. As a final nail in the coffin of VF and T, DOA palys faster and so the DOA fighters move quicker than their counterparts.
As a final point, although it is obvious I favor DOA to win these fights I would prefer Teken to do so asI much prefere Tekens characters to DOAs faceless cardboard cutouts. As me and my two house mates have been intensively playing VF4, T4 and DOA3 at home recently, this topic has come up between us before and has been discussed quite a lot.

DOA achieves just as much complexity as the other two with its countering mechanic. Try playing against a good countering player and feel not justpain but frustration as well

forget that... I'm doing a damn good impersonation of Dr. Tofu from Ranma 1/2 whenever he sees the ka-ka-ka-sumi of that series -- glasses fog over, loses any and all ability to focus on what he's doing (leaving people wondering how they survived their visit), stuttering etc... oh wait, I dont wear glasses... I'm blind!!!!

Ahh...the power of three and four hit combos...Paul, Lee, and Julia are best at those...But Nina is still one of the masters of grabbing arts (although I personally have yet to learn them), and that in itself can be very deadly...that and annoying moves...annoying moves are always fun...Joe Richter wrote:In predicting these fights, I think we are going to have to deal with the "super power" factor here, the ability of a pugalist to variously project his/her opponant large distances, break solid objects and suchlike. The only reason i say that DOA isn't as Difficult as T and VF is that i didn't even need to look at a moves list to figure out all the moves. I can play EVERY character in DOA very well. I have seen newbies just button smash in DOA and beat Veterans of the game. I beat the game in just 1 hr with all the characters. Does this make DOA a bad game... hell no, but it isn't nearly as deep as Tekken or VF. DOA countering system doesn't really add that much depth because it is so easy to doJoe Richter wrote:theheap wrote:I have played all incarnations of the above games, (im going to by tekken 4 this friday) Tekken and VF take a great deal of skill to play...
