There's Star's End-style anticoncussion fields.
The Anticoncussion fields are separate force field/shielding systems. They don't enhance the armor.

It was my impression they were a kind of structural integrity field that spread stress over the whole of a structure.

What's to say that the T-47s don't have shields?

And care to link to your claim?
What's to say the T-47's do have shields? IIRC, some of the blasts were detonating in the air, not even touching the speeders. According to WEG (very low canon, I know) there are no shields, and that's the only referece I know of.

As for a link to my "claim:"

Perhaps you'd like to cruise any of the much more recent threads that Mike's addressed this on, rather than appealing to a page that hasn't been updated in more than a year.

I usually skip 11 page threads, I don't have very much free time. Would you mind summarizing them for me in a few sentences?

No, because in Han Solo at Star's End, the whole Star's End facility was propelled into orbit (or nearly into orbit) because the anticoncussion shields confined the explosion of the reactor (the facility itself was sheathed in molecularly-bonded armor.)

I can go back and check the references regarding anticoncussion fields, but they aren't SIFs (maybe you're thinking of the secondary effect of particle shields, or tensor fields.)

You do realize most of those pages are severely out of date (they still use the Tech Manual for the trek side, which is distinctly non-canon.) do you not? Mike's been one of those advocating a massless beam (Actually, he advocates the usage of multiple weapons types, but supports the massless beam theory, as does Saxton. Neither are, to my knowledge, consider an energy beam flak bursting to be a viable explanation for the explosions.

Besides which, the notion of an energy weapon being able to spontaneously detonate is patently ridiculous. (which is why the "projectile" type blaster may be a culprit, if we *must* assume there is some sort of flak there.)

I would further point out that Mike's more recent AOTC observations discussed the notion of flak bursts vs shield interactions (shield interactions are the most common interpretation for the "flashes" seen, but obviously its not applicable in all situations.)

Actually, neither of the scenes are what I noted. As for DVD players, my computer doesn't like playing DVDs for some strange reason and I can't cough up 40 bucks for a DVD, as compared to 19 bucks.

The scenes in question was when the Clone Army started their run into the arena.

We saw what appeared to be a burst in the side of the LAAT in the later portion I noted and just before the LAAT landed and let the Jedi onboard, we saw a blaster bolt hit the side of the LAAT but no carbonisation was present. This was as opposed to when the Jedi were boarding the LAAT, where a blaster bolt blew a hole and left carbon scoring on the LAAT.

Anyone can provide an email and webspace? I see what I can do to grab said scenes and send it to said person, or store it somewhere or something.

E-mail the pics to me. In case the e-mail function under my post doesn't work, it's yt300000@hotmail.com.
