What is ASVS

HoS this thread if you like. But I keep hearing ASVS, and, being a relative noob, I have no idea what it means...SDNers seems to like them, though...and they seem okay in my book...from what I can gather ( i may be WAY offbase), they were members of another board...which...perhaps, shut down? I don't know...

alt.startrek.vs.starwars, the newsgroup that is sort of like the predecessor of this site. Many board members are oldtime ASVSers.

It's a newsgroup, so if you have a newsreader... er.. just do what ever you do to add groups to your reader.

I personally use Google Groups, though it takes 3-9 hours for posts to be loaded.

Some say SD.Net is ASVS Jr. I think those people need have been living in a cave, on Mars, with their eyes closed and their fingers in their ears, yelling over the eventual demise of newsgroups and the already rampant troll infestation at ASVS. But that's just me.
