Funny story, really...
I posted almost exclusively at the Macross World Forums.
I was involved in a discussion over, you guessed it, an ISD vs Enterprise-E. I was foolishly convinced that E-E would over power the ISD. Of course I had to back up my argument, so I went searching the 'Net for hard data.....and I came across SD.net through a search for ISD info.
After carefully reading through Mike's site, I soon learned the folly of my ways....
Been a fan of SD.net ever since and I never looked back.........still post at Macross World, though!

I was bored one day and I decided to just type in random things into the url box. First, Stardestroyer.com, then stardestroyer.org. and then finally stardestroyer.net and BAM. I'm here. ~Jason
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

SB.com was my original homeland, been scouring that place since the end of '99 and joined mid-2000. I also was around ASVS during the infamous invasions of SB.com and the "Wong Is Wrong" campaign.
I registered here a day after the place opened because I had been busy and didn't know of this glorious board until I checked SD.net for any updates.

This December marks six years that I've been on ASVS. I've found out about SDN last year from a few of the ASVS regulars. I tried to sign up but my account never got activated. Then I pushed it out of my mind until early this year.

I'm another member of the "random url" club. And I'm glad I found this place; back then I used to be a dumb "no-lasers" trekkie. Gah!

I was a member of Spacebattles first, but I found SB through the links on SD.net. What does that make me?

I'm an indy. I found this site when a friend and I were arguing (friendly-like) over whether or not an ISD could beat the Ent-D. I remember writing a couple e-mails to Mike that I'm damn lucky didn't make it onto Hate Mail, and I still don't bother with SB or ASVS. I'm on here, the DP9 mailing list, the Gamefaqs forums, and the Palladium Books forums.

I think I originally came into contact with this site or a precursor back when AOL had a Babylon 5 site and series of message boards. At some time people had put links to different sci-fi/science sites so I think I enountered the Turbo Laser portion of the site original quite awhile ago.
There was a big gap in my activity here but at some point I ended up reading the rest of the site which I found interesting. It also had the benefit of keeping the site in the back of my mind and on one of my bookmarks so it was easy to find when my interest in Star Wars picked up with the new trilogy.

I was on the STar Wars galaxies forums for a bit a few years ago and then there was the inevetable SW vs ST debate. Someone posted a link to SD.Net, back when it was just the site, no forums. I read it, laughed myself silly at the hatemail and then when Mike set up the primitive forums i did a couple of posts. then he set up the forums proper and joined. By that time i'd been reading the ASVS fanfic archive and the FUQ but had never been to ASVS or SB.

A friend and I were discussing who would win, ISD or Ent-D. We made it at equal...then my friend found this site, I'd say 5-6 months before the boards went up. And that changed our minds on that subject. Then when the board came up I told him about it, he is The Silence and I.

An SW-vs-ST search brought me here. Well, to the main site, actually, then I came here.

I came here from ASVS but by a round about route. I'd stopped posting on ASVS for a year or so because of a move that left me with no computer with internet access at home. I wandered by ASVS after finally getting a new computer and internt access again.
I saw some posts about SD.net now having a web board, so I started lurking and throwing out the occasional random post. Like this one.

I sauntered over from TGU (The Gaming Union). First brought in by Starcrossed, as I recall. But as I've probably said before, I ghosted for 4 months or so before actually joining.

Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

My first haunt was the Star Wars Galaxies forums (back when I was really excited by the game). I hadn't heard of SB.cpm or ASVS at this time. I used the same name, but I didn't have the whole SEGNOR thing going on just yet. Interestingly, I never even posted in the section talking about the game; I kept myself in the Pure Star Wars forum. Of course, they were no experts on Star Wars, and after I realized my hopes of having an SWG account were nil (my Mom wouldn't pay $10 a month for a video game, to my objections; she turned out to be the sensible one), I dropped out of the forum-scene for a while.
I had known about SD.Net since I had a comp; long before the forums existed. I checked about once a week, and one week low and behold there's a forum. I signed up immediately. And the rest is history.
