Heavenly Creatures

Post by Stravo »

Has anyone else seen this movie? i know its old but I stumbled across it for the first time late the other night on cable and was quickly reeled in. The movie is fantastic and amazing and directed by none other than Peter Jackson.

One can see some early LOTR camera work and shots in this movie.

But thats not as important as how engrossing the story is of two girls that live in a fantasy world they build up together, sort of fall in love (debateable point) and one ends up plotting and committing murder against her mother for coming between them. No its not a spoiler, the murder happens in the opening shot of the movie. Its about HOW we get to that point that the movie addresses wonderfully.

I know its based on a real case in NZ and hope that some of the locals might shed a little light on the case. Anyway if you have not seen it GO SEE IT. If I have to appeal to the depraved nature of SDNerizens then let me add that there is nubile teen lesbianism in this movie.

I've seen it. Quite an interesting film.

Stravo, I might still have an enourmous FAQ for the film on my HD if you're interested enough.

EDIT: Yeah, I still have it. Two .txt files that total 1.34 MB in size.

Sounds good, but it does not appeal to this paticular forumite's sense of depravity. 8)

While I'm not in awe from Peter Jackson (TFotR wasn't that great, and TTT was mediocre at best, IMO), this movie shows promise.

Have a very nice day.

I have that FAQ Spanky, I went right to the internet after the movie at 3AM because I was so mesmerized by the story. Its enormous and the level of detail was gratifying as it answered so many questions. Thanks for the offer.

I quite enjoyed the film.
