"Hazard Perception Test" my arse

Post by Vympel »

Went to do the HPT for my P2 license today (I'm on provisional, red P plate on your car, more restrictions, then it's P2, then it's unrestricted)- had to do this absurd test in front of a computer where they show video of 'real' traffic conditions and you have to touch the screen when you think you should slow down, when it's safe to turn, etc.

I fucked it up- I had no idea what the hell it wanted from me, even though I read the handbook about it- it consistently put up the same situation again and again, or the same question, the screen was small and crappy and resolution was bad, so it was often a matter of early-1990s twitch 'multimedia' gaming as to whether I got it right. What a waste of 30 bucks.

Hey, if you think that's bad, imagine the living hell Federation pilots have to go through when they train to fly the Delta Flyer.
