Strange strange dream..

Post by Trytostaydead »

I dreamt by some unknown reason a group of people were mysteriously transported back to the Civil War era and we were drafted into the Union army. They were handing out weapons, they gave older model rifles to people they thought who would die soon on the field and gave commissions out like candy to newly formed regiments. Me and my "friend" somehow both became Captains.

We were training with rifles, learning how to jab and parry when an old colonel came up to us and corrected my grip on the rifle and then it became much easier to do.

<Time flashed forward a little bit> My friend had disappeared and for some reason or the other I was led to this modern looking office. I pulled out my pistol and went in. The secretaries tried to dissuade me from my search, even tried tempting me with sex but I put the pistol to one of their heads and cocked it.

They took me to another room filled with computers and people looked up and there was this one cute girl that was smirking at me. And then I walked into another office and there was my "friend." He looked up at me and smiled and told me I will not survive the Civil War, and that he was the one that would kill me.

Evidently through some convoluted means he's been time traveling back and forth and went quite mad, and was trying to set up some type of empire of his own. He knocked the gun out of my hand and I sprang for a knife and he was just laughing like I wouldn't be able to kill him. But then I quickly stabbed him and he had this look of shocked expression as I kept stabbing him until he slumped over.

I then went out and started popping those other assholes.

At least your dream actually make sense. I wake up every morning thinking "What the f***?" They usually jump from thing to thing. Maybe going from something with dinosaurs to Star Wars.

Oh, since we are on the subject of dreams, I managed to sleep through a nightmare and what happened was everything just faded out. It was quite odd. I didn't think dreams could just end like that. Odd how the mind works.

I had a dream last night that I could access the Internet without any form of computers, ala "Lain", and was part of some sort of elite cadre of people aroudn the world who were trying to track down and destroy a Skynet-like computer program.

The last dream i had was one of the more disturbing ones in recent memory; it involved me witnessing the end of the world (sorta). I was driving in my car when all of a sudden the sky darkens to night and a giant orange mushroom cloud from a nuclear bomb goes off in the near distance, maybe 25 miles away. This thing is fucking huge, i can see it spiraling upward and i can see the blastwave making its way towards me, wiping out everything in its path and i know that theres no way i will survive. It suddenly gets vey hot, scorchingly hot, trees setting on fire and pavement smoking and the blastwave hits but somehow i am unharmed. I drive around in the landscape, still dark as night, as the ghosts of the charred victims wander around aimlessly, some of them reaching out to me as if to help them...very weird shit. Reminded me a bit of the nuclear nightmare from T2...

Sometimes I wish I had more interesting dreams, but usually I'm grateful that I don't have to spend 10 minutes every morning thinking "What the fuck was that!" :P
Don't hate; appreciate!

I once had a dream that my pet hamburger decided that monkeys were lazy so he grabbed his sweatshirt and set out to find bookshelves that don't talk. He set out despite my begging him to stay.

One of the wierdest that I remember was from when I was 6 or 7, in the dream I am walking in a completely dead desert, flat as far as the eye can see, red-brown ground, in the distance is dozens and dozens of thin trails of black smoke, as I near it I come to a sheer cliff, below that is a valley as far as the eye can see, full of burning pyres at even spacings, all burning, the sources of the black smoke.

Really wierd, which is probably why I remember it so many years later.

I don't have dreams that much often.

One I had last night was me after having cut someone up with a katana and that person's sister or some other relation coming after me with this freakily scary look. Or something like that.

You know, I seem to get zombie dreams very often. I just had one a few nights ago. Sort of like "Night of Living Dead" stuff.

Maybe because I'm a funeral director...

Perhaps, but it could also mean that there's some unresolved conflict in your life.

Right. Freud believed that we play all of the characters in our dreams, so maybe this is a dream about isolation. If I am the only non zombie, then I am not 'fitting in.'

Or the entire concept of psychoanalysis and dream interpretation could be bullshit.

You guys are lucky you're not my sister. She dreams VIVIDLY, to the point of accurately feeling the pain, the air, smells, etc.

And she has a nightmare almost once every week or so. Constantly. Stuff like us getting killed, haunted houses, ghosts roaming our hallways and appearing in our mirrors, stuff like that.

I had this fucked up dream one night after I'd been playing too much Red Alert 2. My sister and I were sitting at home when a siren goes off in the distance: in the game this siren means a nuclear missile has been launched. So my sister and I run to the "shelter" and get shot at by a helicopter along the way. The shelter is a movie theater, where a bunch of thugs with baseball bats try to block out paths. My sister grabs a tazer from nowhere and kills all of them. We go inside and my friend from real life and I go down the street to get "weapons" (for no apparent reason; there's a nuclear missile coming, not an army). We hear the warning siren again, and my friend breaks off at a dead sprint of 60mph back to the shelter.

I get there a minute later, and I crawl into the trapdoor in the floor. And magically, I'm on top of a skyscraper, where a bunch of other people are ducking and covering under steel outcroppings. I see the nuke hit in the distance and the massive mushroom cloud that it makes, followed by booming shockwaves. We are all miraculously alive. As if that weren't enough Kirov blimps than start approaching menacingly towards our shelter. Before they have a chance to finish us in a hailstorm of bombs I woke up. I was all covered in sweat; it was actually quite terrifying. I imagine anyone would be if a nuke were about to hit, though.

My most vivid dream ever was a bizarre mishmash of 'The Black Hole', 'The Time Machine', '20,000 Leasgues Under the Sea' and a bunch of Godzilla movies. It made no sense whatsoever, and the only part of it I remember clearly is the end: me getting a blaster bolt in the gut from Maximillian (evil robot from The Black Hole).

I had a dream last night that I saw one of the C-130's from the 129th Recce Wing based not to far from here get shot down from a terrorist weapon. It was pretty scary. I was watching the C-130, then it started dropping flares. A missile went by the wing, the plane evaded and then got hit by gunfire which snapped the wing off and it crashed.

I was with some people and we were saying we should rush and kill the gunners or should we go to the crash site hope for surviors. Then I woke up.

I sometimes wake up and can't move (or at least find it very hard to move) but am still dreaming but I know I'm dreaming. Is that bad? I mean is it some kind of sleep disorder or something?

Want a really freaky "dream?"

I went to sleep in my living room of my apartment because my room was just too freakin' hot. I slept on a pad I laid out. Soon I woke up but I COULD NOT MOVE. Then I realized I was not ON the freakin' pad. I was levitating.

To this day I could not tell if it was a dream or not because the details and sensations were too real! A little bit blurry, like the vision you get when you try to make you the way to the bathroom when you just woke up. But still.. freaky.
